Happened to have my camera and long lens on, when we walked Ruby along Lunan Bay Beach. I don't know who the guys are, but they were spectacular, the waves were awesome and hey, the sun was shining too. I took hundreds of photos, but here are just 5 of my favourites.
I spent a few days working in San Diego. After work I went down to the beaches and caught a few shots of the locals surfing with the new Sony A7R III.

Nena is my 2/100 in my 100 strangers project.
Shot at North Beach, Miami, USA.
Nena is from Serbia but currently lives in Miami.
She loves to stand up paddle, and I envy her that hobby.
Today there was heavy wind and strong currents, so she is really
tired (but happy) when I meet her as she has just come out of the water.
Nena wanted me to email me her picture because she really wanted a stand up paddle picture of herself on Facebook.
I wrote her email address down on my phone, but forgot press “save”.
But I think I remember the email, so I sent a picture.
I haven´t heard anything yet, so I have no idea if Nena ever got her picture.
I hope so. If not: It´s here.
Happy with the encounter and picture, but I could surely do more of the smalltalk.

“Surfs Up” is my contribution for the Artists Down Under magazine theme of “Sports”, it is an artistic rendering of one of original photos taken at the WSL surfing championships at Bells Beach a few years back.
Issue 88 of the Artists Down Under magazine contains this image as well as three others of mine. My monthly article is photography related this month, rather than Photoshop.
You can download or read the magazine here.
My article, which I have dedicated to my friend Beverley, can also be found on my website (and may be easier to read there) here.
There's a certain kind of peace you can only find at the edge of the world, board in hand, waiting for that perfect wave as the day comes to a close.
This was one of those moments. The sun dipping low, turning the water to liquid gold and the ocean spray to diamonds.
A perfect slice of an endless summer here in Second Life, just chasing the last light before it fades into twilight.
Hope you're all finding your own perfect summer moments!
