Task 2 asks you to design a solar tracking system as a means of expanding your knowledge and skills of biomimicry and Arduinos. Since not all design can be understood through a prototype or through visualization alone, each team is asked to develop a project that exploits the best of both activities. Working with your team, you are to develop a speculative design in Digital Project and a prototype array built with your Arduino materials.

I played with it for a while. It was cool. Not $10,000 cool, but cool nonetheless

This is the image surface of tintype_3 which can be found in this same set.

You can see the texture of the surface because I am reflecting a light in it. The lumpy streaks on the lower right corner feel pretty smooth to the touch. I think that may be where the liquid emulsion coating was poured off to recover and save the excess.

Another lobed, sinusoidal surface, found by accident. This one has octahedral symmetry and a pleasingly simple parameterization.

The surface is topologically equivalent to a torus. THough it's orientable, it is ambivalent about outside and inside--each lobe has the opposite orientation of its 3 neighbors.

The irregular texture is also a happy accident. Give it a spin here:

This application allows you to drag and drop photos around, a well as pinch and pull photos to resize.

Another calm day when the surface is glassy. A large plankton bloom attracted many sharks and they were gorging themselves on the abundant food. Nose, dorsal and tail can all be seen here.
