Shortly after 9/11 and things like Operation Enduring Freedom, I became fascinated by the mix of rally and advertising that was popping up on gas station signs all around. I started taking pictures of some. Film grain here is from 3200 speed film.

Men must be governed by God or they will be ruled by tyrants.

Unknown building. I'm finding that I really like the façades with the stepped rooflines, they look very neat in contrast with the sky

The 2012 Father Daughter Dance was a "Knight to Remember" thanks to Chevrolet of Fairbanks, Alaska USA Federal Credit Union, TriWest Healthcare Alliance and the many other sponsors who made this event possible. Thanks to our volunteer committee for investing hundreds of hours into this event celebrating and strengthening the Father-Daughter bond!

Note the yellow ribbon sign. These were all over on the way into town, each with the name of a different local who is serving America in uniform. God bless and protect each and every one, and God bless Pontiac for being so supportive of their best & bravest! I love it. If I ever become mayor of anywhere, we are doing this if I have to pay out of my own pocket or hold bake sales to get it done!

4th Annual Mother Son Adventure on July 21, 2012 at Cottonwood Park on Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson (JBER). The theme was "Angry Birds in the Park" and despite the rain it was quite party! For the second year in a row we were visited by a small black bear, and a momma moose brought her son by too!

You know those magnetic "Support Our Troops" ribbons that people stick on the back of their car? Well, I don't have a car, but whenever I rent one, I always feel like I oughta have a ribbon, too. If you take two of the ribbons and overlap them, they make an infinity sign. Hmmm.

Asi de gastadas como esa bandera, deben estar las tropas...ideas malignas simplemente no pueden prevalecer !

Just as that faded flag the troops must be... evil ideas simply don´t prevail.

1st Sgt. Miguel Antia, senior enlisted member, Headquarters and HeadquartersTroop, 2nd Cavalry Regiment, visited the Freedom Monument in Riga, Latvia March 25, 2015. Col. Martin Liberts, Commander, Latvian National Armed Forces, invited Antia to attend a memorial ceremony honoring the thousands of people deported to Siberia by occupying Soviet forces in 1949. Approximately 42,000 Latvians were deported on March 25, 1949 alone and the date is now designated as Communist Genocide Memorial Day, with flowers laid at the monument and many of the rail points used for the deportations. Flags are also flown at half-mast to honor the vicitms. Andris Berzins, President of Latvia, was in attendance to give a brief speech and lay flowers."Today, commemorating the victims and honoring those who survived, we must remember that the greatest crime is to deny a person humanity. May this day and commemoration be a clear warning to all those who are still trying to occupy free and independent states,” said Berzins.Antias’ and other U.S. service members’ presence at the event exemplifies the strong partnership between NATO nations and lasting commitment.
