It was a really nice day here in Alabama yesterday (1/6/11) So me and my wife (Liz) went riding around roads in her old hood. We use to ride these roads all the time as teens but this is the first time in, Oh…15 years since I seen this bridge. Last time I was here it was washed out. gone. Its hard to imagine the water got that high but it did, or has. I don’t know the name of this creek, But I’m sure it has one.

If passed, Referendum 71 will uphold Washington state's "everything but marriage" domestic partnership law, which was passed by the state Senate in March, passed by the state House in April, and signed into law by Governer Gregoire in May of 2009.
It shouldn't even be on the ballot. Why is it OK to put people's civil rights up for a vote? But it is on the ballot, so if you live in Washington state, please vote to approve it.

194th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion conducts

PANMUNJOM - With weapons at the ready, members of 194th Combat
Sustainment Support Battalion set out at dawn to conduct convoy
live-fire training here, March 25.
The fast-paced exercise exposed Soldiers to many of the real-world
perils found on today's asymmetric battlefield, culminating in a series
of drills designed to hone their skills in reacting to road-side bombs
and enemy small-arms fire.
"These Soldiers have been training for the past six months to prepare
for this day and their hard work is evident in the outstanding
performance I've seen throughout the battalion," said Command Sgt. Maj.
Nichelle S. Fails.
At times gritty and intense, the Soldiers worked in teams to zero in on
enemy targets with their rifles and machine guns.
"This scenario is interesting and very realistic," said Pvt. Jiwoo Kim,
a KATUSA assigned to the battalion.
Pvt. Dylan Florres, a battalion mechanic and one of the day's enemy
combatant role-players, sees the training as realistic and a good way to
build unit cohesion. "What we are doing is basically helping Soldiers
learn how to train safely and work as a team," he said.
"Everybody is highly motivated and ready to fight," said Chief Warrant
Officer 4 Joseph Williams, HHC, 194th Combat Support Sustainment
Battalion, safety officer. "Taking care of our Soldiers is very
important, we don't want any injuries. That's why we do risk assessments
and go over all of the details to make this a very safe, yet realistic,
training environment."
Master Sgt. Kenneth Ashley, the day's pyrotechnics NCO, described the
training as important in building teamwork within the battalion. "Here
in Korea and in places like Iraq and Afghanistan, we need to make sure
our Soldiers know how to react under fire and to ensure they are
prepared for anything the enemy throws at them."

Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell signs a Statement of Support for the National Guard and Reserve Jan. 18 in Richmond flanked by Maj. Gen. Daniel E. Long, Jr., the Adjutant General of Virginia, and Roger Trout of the Virginia Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve. The Statement of Support confirms that Governor McDonnell joins other employers "in pledging to fully recognize, honor and enforce the Uniformed Services Employment and Re-Employment Rights Act, ensure that managers and supervisors will have the tools they need to effectively manage those employees who serve in the Guard and Reserve and that Virginia will continually recognize and support our country’s service members and their families in peace, in crises and in war". Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve is a Department of Defense agency established in 1972. The mission of ESGR is to gain and maintain employer support for Guard and Reserve service by advocating relevant initiatives, recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of applicable laws, and resolving conflict between employers and service members. The Dragon Boat Trans Pennine Challenge is comprised of two parts. From Liverpool City Centre to Leeds (2nd to 8th May) covering 128 miles and a Dragon Boat Regatta in Saltaire Park, Shipley on the River Calder on 7th May. Funds are being raised for Blood Bikes, Bradford Hospital Children's Ward and Spread a Smile.
This is the start of a year of celebrations this month to mark the bicentenary of the completion of Britain’s longest single man-made waterway, the Leeds & Liverpool Canal, on 22 October 1816.

OFA’s network of volunteers and staff is actively working at the grassroots level in all 50 states to promote the President’s proposals to strengthen America’s middle class by creating jobs, passing health insurance reform, building a clean energy economy, improving education, and reining in the excesses of Wall Street. OFA is actively involved in electing allies the President can count on in Congress to pass his agenda.
• The DNC is creating a long-term infrastructure for positive change.
Throughout the last year, the Democratic National Committee has made long-term investments to grow the Democratic Party in all 50 states. We work closely with Democratic state parties and committees, Organizing for America, campaigns, and Democratic activists. Thanks to our investments and work on the ground, we are in strong shape going into the November elections and will mount an aggressive effort in campaigns across the company. There is no doubt there will be many tough races, but the infrastructure we have in place has put us in a strong position heading towards November.
