WASHINGTON, D.C. — – Army Sergeant Norman Lettieri, a soldier with the 252nd Military Police Company from Cleveland, Tennessee, was one of the many National Guardsmen providing crowd control support at D.C. Metro Subway Stations for the Presidential Inauguration. The 57th Presidential Inauguration was held in Washington D.C. on Monday, January 21, 2013.
During the 10-day inaugural period approximately 6,000 National Guard personnel from over 30 states and territories worked for Joint Task Force-District of Columbia, providing traffic control, crowd management, transportation, communication, medical and logistical support as well as marching in the Inaugural Parade. More than 13,000 Active Duty, National Guard and Reserve military members were involved in the inauguration.
The Inauguration included the Presidential Swearing-in Ceremony, Inaugural Address, Inaugural Parade and numerous inaugural balls and galas honoring the elected President of the United States. The Inaugural Parade procession of more than 8,000 people that started at Constitution Avenue continuing down Pennsylvania Avenue to the White House included ceremonial military regiments, citizen groups, marching bands and floats. The presidential inaugural parade included members from all branches of the armed forces of the United States.
Since 1789, the U.S. Armed Forces have participated in this important American tradition honoring our Commander in Chief. The parade is organized by the Joint Task Force-National Capital Region, and participants are selected by the Presidential Inaugural Committee.

Washington DC, March 26, 2017. Over a thousand Palestinian rights activists and supporters rallied in front of the White House and marched to the Washington Convention Center to protest the American Israel Public Affairs Committee yearly meeting. Around a dozen activists affiliated with the Jewish youth peace group If Not Now were removed (but not arrested!) by police for blocking one of the many entrances to the AIPAC event. A handful of counter protesters affiliated with AIPAC and the Jewish Defense League were very well protected by DC Police as they taunted the much larger contingent of peace marchers. The event was largely peaceful but some isolated scuffles broke out late in the day.

ORLANDO, Fla. - Four Soldiers from the 143d Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) rolled onto the green grass at Orlando’s Blue Jacket Park in two Humvees to support hundreds of racers, organizers, veterans and volunteers participating in the 9th Annual Wounded Warfighter Lone Sailor 5K/10K April 14, 2018.
Hosted by the Central Florida Council of the United States Navy League, the race featured more than 600 runners, walkers and rollers who, together with more than a dozen corporate sponsors and non-profit partners, raised approximately $54,000 for the Camaraderie Foundation.
Dedicated to saving lives, families and marriages for service members and veterans, the Camaraderie Foundation offers counseling programs designed to heal the invisible wounds of war.
The race took place in conjunction with a dedication ceremony of the Blue Jacket Recruit, a statue of a female recruit standing for inspection on her day of graduation from Navy Boot Camp. Designed by J. Don Reynolds, a world renowned sculptor who once served in the Navy aboard the U.S.S. Yorktown, the heroic scale statue commemorates 188,000 women who began their naval careers at Orlando Recruit Training Center from 1968-1994. The statue stands next a Lone Sailor statue that signifies Central Florida’s rich military heritage and America’s gender integration in its armed forces.
The ceremony featured several distinguished guests to include Carla Hoskins, a graduate of Orlando RTC, Jennifer Thompson, vice mayor of Orange County, and Stephanie Murphy, U.S. congresswoman for Florida’s 7th District. The 143d ESC Soldiers joined them and hundreds others in attendance in expressing their respect for more than 650,000 men and women who marched on this hallowed ground.

Not Your Mascots, a 501(c)3 organization, is excited to announce its emergence as a newly formed non-profit that is dedicated to addressing the misappropriation of Indigenous identity and imagery through education, advocacy, and media outreach efforts to provide comprehensive solutions that will end the use of harmful native mascots and stereotypes. Not Your Mascots recognizes the need for cooperation and unity between educational institutions, the media, and the general public in the creation of a future in which society will be free of the harms of Native objectification. Not Your Mascots Board Members will be present at the rally and march to the Vikings vs. Washington game on Sunday, November 2, 2014 at TCF Stadium in Minnesota to protest the racially degrading name of the Washington football team. Native mascots perpetuate social injustice, reinforce stereotypes, and lead to discrimination and disregard of Indigenous peoples in America and globally.
Not Your Mascots endorses and will participate at the #NotYourMascot and the No Honor in Racism marches.
Anishinaabe (Ojibwe), Dakota (Sioux), Oneida, Mohican, Potawatomi, Ho-Chunk, and many other Tribes for a total of 22 Sovereign Nations will participate in the rally and lend their voices to the decades-long fight to #ChangeTheName.

This work is designed to undermine the vital but patronizing “Harz IV” agenda of the German government in which self-employed individuals must send in records of their expenses in order to verify the necessity of support. Made of stainless steel, this unobtrusive machine is suited for the harsh environments of the streets. It generates receipts for random items, quantities, and sale amounts. Each receipt is printed on thermal paper like an actual receipt and could be sent to the authorities.

As a main character, I chose trumpet narucissus which were in bloom under the sakura in Waniduka. There were few people who took care of the narucissuses under the gorgeous and heroic sakura. Nevertheless, I noticed those flowers as bigger than I imagined the size of them when I looked at closely.
“Please watch me carefully. Not only sakura, I am also here.” A narucissus appeals the existence I think.
The word ‘narucissus’ in English is the same as a beautiful boy’s name appeared in the ancient Greek mythology. The story is that a boy named Narucissus loves his reflection on a pond. Thus, the laguages of flowers ‘egotism’ and ‘unrequited love’ might be led through the story.
I believe that the ancient Greeks must have loved the flower of narucissus as well as Japanese loves sakura. Even though the appearances for each flowers are different each other, those flowers are both beautiful, aren’t they?

KISSIMMEE, FLA. – Four Soldiers from Mission Support Element, 143d Sustainment Command (Expeditionary), joined thousands of service members, veterans and their families who gathered at the Westgate Resort in Kissimmee for free food, live music and heartfelt fellowship during the second annual Military Appreciation Weekend Concert held May 5, 2018.
Westgate Resorts’ CEO David Siegel opened the property to more than 1,500 military families for a complimentary, three-night stay that culminated in a free concert that featured the Chris Weaver Band.
Alongside the complimentary concessions and children activities, the 143d ESC Soldiers set up and managed two static displays featuring one of the unit’s Humvees and Light Medium Tactical Vehicle. The vehicles attracted hundreds of children, dozens of young adults and even a few veterans who climbed aboard the driver’s seat, donned an Advanced Combat Helmet and put their hands on the steering wheel.
In addition to the dozens of pop, rock, country and R&B songs played by the Chris Weaver Band, the concert offered a military flair complete with the presentation of the colors by Veterans of Foreign Wars Command Post 4287, the singing of the national anthem by American Idol contestant Alyssa Raghu and a helicopter flyover conducted by the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.
Among the long list of VIPs was Florida Gov. Rick Scott who shook hands and took pictures with the 143d ESC Soldiers.
The concert concluded with fireworks that illuminated the night sky, its colorful patterns bouncing off thousands of fluttering flags and smiling faces.

Officially launched today in Sydney by the Hon.
