Altamonte Springs, Fla. - More than 50 Army Reserve Soldiers from Mission Support Element, Headquaters & Headquarters Company, 143d Sustainment Command (Expeditionary), joined more than 1,000 participants in the Orlando Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk Sept. 9, 2018, at Cranes Roost Park in Altamonte Springs, Fla.
The event honored New York City firefighter Stephen Siller who made the ultimate sacrifice during the 9/11 attacks. Carrying more than 60 pounds of firefighting equipment, Siller ran from Brooklyn Tunnel--closed as a security measure--to the World Trade Center where he laid his life to save the lives of others.
Siller's story inspired nearly half of the 143d ESC Soldiers to don ruck sacks and run alongside hundreds of first responders wearing their full gear.
One 143d ESC Soldier, Spc. Andy Meyreles, honored his civilian and military profession during the race. Serving as an Ammunition and Stock Control and Accounting Specialist, the Hialeah, Fla., native put on his Orange County Fire Rescue helmet, jacket and pants over his Army physical fitness uniform. Meyreles' choice of attire paid homage to all service members and first responders who follow Siller's legendary example.

Glasgow Corporation Transport were keen to buy buses from local builders from the time they started buying buses, the 1924 trial batches included five bought from Halley of Yoker. Scotstoun-built Albions were purchased from the late 1920s until 1953 when the last was bodied.
In 1951 Albion Motors shareholders agreed a take-over by Leyland Motors of the eponymous Lancashire town. Some years prior to this the Albion directors had decided to discontinue their double-deck Venturer bus chassis.
As a political sop, from the later PD2 Titans until the late batches of PDR1 Atlanteans, Leyland buses for Glasgow carried Leyland-Albion badges. This one is on the front of Mr Philip Blair’s nicely looked after L405, a Titan PD3/2.

The Louisiana National Guard's Aviation Support Facility #2 supported a high-flying training mission at Esler Field in Pineville, La., Oct. 24, 2014. Using the LANG’s UH-60M Black Hawk, the pilots and crew chief helped more than 30 Soldiers from Fort Polk’s Special Operations Training Detachment complete static line and military free fall proficiency jumps. ORLANDO, Fla. – Dozens of Soldiers from the 143d Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) joined members of veteran services organizations to honor the families of fallen heroes during the 6th Annual Operation: Love Letters event conducted March 24, 2018, at St. John Vianney Catholic School in Orlando.
Hosted by the Orlando Survivor Outreach Services, a U.S. Army community support program dedicated to helping families cope with grief from losing loved ones who have served their country. Operation: Love Letters provides a forum of fellowship for family members to share their memories of the deceased through food, games, music, arts and crafts. Conceived in Orlando in 2013, this local activity has transformed into a U.S. Army sponsored flagship program for the entire nation with international reach.
The event commenced with full military honors as the 143d ESC’s color guard and the Patriot Riders Guard led the opening ceremony in the Pledge of Allegiance and the Star-Spangled Banner. The color guard then set up a Fallen Comrade table and conducted a “13 Folds” ceremony to honor all American service members who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Miles Espaillat, the youngest of three sons of Maj. Gen. Francisco Espaillat, lit the candle on the Fallen Comrade Table. Espaillat’s father served as the commanding general of the 143d ESC from 2014-2016. He died of a heart attack April 7, 2017, while serving as general officer for the Office of the Chief of the Army Reserve.
After the opening ceremony, the family members shared their most cherished memories of their son, daughter, parent or spouse. Some brought framed photos while others baked their loved ones’ favorite dessert. The 143d ESC Soldiers joined several family members in creating crafts and writing love letters.
Representatives from the USO, Veterans Affairs, Operation Military Matters and the Orlando Vet Center also attended the festivities to share the many free resources such as grief counseling, care packages, and financial assistance tailored to families coping with the loss of a loved one.
Operation: Love Letters concluded with its most cherished tradition as Soldiers, families and volunteers gathered at the school’s courtyard to release dozens of balloons with messages addressed to their fallen heroes.

In 2013, UNDP together with Ministry of Culture and Tourism implemented the “Support to Baku Tourism Vocational School” project.
By improving the management system, curriculum and training courses of the vocational school under this project, UNDP aims to increase the competitiveness in Azerbaijan’s touristic industry.
The overall goal of the project is to strengthen the capacity of the Baku Tourism Vocational School of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism to train qualified personnel for the tourism sector. The Project output is to enhance management system, curriculum and training courses of Baku Tourism Vocational School.
