Community health worker Eunice Nalokita, 23, conducts a mother-to-mother support group in her village of Manyatta Zebra in central Kenya. Eunice, together with her fellow community health worker, Christine, founded the group with the support of our partner ADSMKE.
Eunice and Christine teach women about hygiene and sanitation, nutrition, how to breastfeed and about the importance of going to antenatal check-ups and delivering in hospital.
In the three years since the group was set up the health of women and children in the village has been transformed. For example, there are very few cases of diarrhoea now as women know how to treat water and have much better levels of hygiene in the home.
As part of the mother support group the women in the village were given chicks to rear and were shown how to grow their own vegetables. They use the money they get from selling their excess crops to buy more seeds.
palazzo nuovo occupato - università di Torino

Verdi 15 Occupata.

FORT BRAGG, N.C. --- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Savannah District completed this $11 million Training Support Center in April 2011, which serves as a central location for all Army training aids, products and devices on Fort Bragg. Additionally, the 118,700 square-foot facility includes 12 training rooms where Soldiers use advanced video gaming technology for virtual weapons training. The sophisticated technology mimics real world battlefield scenarios and provides Soldiers with useful feedback for improving their accuracy and precision in weapons firing. With construction performed by North Carolina-based prime contractor Osborne Company, this project is the first warehouse facility of its type in the Army. It will serve as a prototype for similar facilities at other major Army installations worldwide. USACE photo by Tracy Robillard.
This banner was made by George Tutill and Company of London and retailed by WM Bridget and Sons of Belfast to the Daughters of William, a Ladies Loyal Orange Lodge in Musselburgh.
The displayed side of this banner shows the affiliation of the DAUGHTERS OF WILLIAM, a LADIES LOYAL ORANGE LODGE to their home town of MUSSELBURGH. The town's arms are central on the banner, which is designed to be suspended from a horizontal pole, itself carried on two vertical supports.
For two centuries after their foundation in the late eighteenth century, lodges of the Orange Order in Scotland were open only to men. After 1909, new lodges were established especially for women; they had an emphasis on charitable and benevolent activities, but otherwise participated fully in the ethos of the order.

The Region's support for the United Way started in the 1970s, with the first campaign supported by Council in 1976. The campaign raised $250,000 with 13 participating agencies in York Region, including an employee payroll deduction program. For many years York Region residents have contributed to the United Way of Metro Toronto. The Region launched its campaign, The United Way of York Region (now United Way Greater Toronto), to benefit York Region's community services.
In 1980, the Region supported United Way, including payroll deductions and flying its flag at the Region's Administrative Building and United Way to campaign on Regional property to employees with the implementation under the Chief Administrative Officer. Ten years later, Council endorsed and supported the first Regional employee-run United Way campaign, and it continues to be run by employees ever since. Seen here is the Regional Chair Eldred King (left) and Commissioner of Community Services Peter Critchon (right) raising the United Way flag at the Administrative building for the beginning of the Region's 1993 campaign. Regional staff donate $13,645 to the United Way in 1993.
Resident Engineer Don Braun (l) and Mission Manager Lucia Gamba (r) show newly arrived and soon-to-be Mission Manager Gerlyn Perlas around the temporary housing group site that is under under construction in Prattsville, N.Y., Jan. 10, 2012. The Federal Emergency Management Agency undertook a temporary housing mission in Prattsville after Tropical Storm Irene which involved primarily installing individual temporary housing units on the property of homeowners severely impacted by Irene's floodwaters. The Army Corps of Engineers was called in by FEMA in a support role later to manage the design and construction of a larger temporary housing group site, which includes everything needed for a normal neighborhood ranging from sewer lines to power connections to roads. The Temporary Housing Planning and Response Team from the Corps' New York District deployed to Prattsville to manage the development and construction of the group site. FEMA will manage the actual installation of the individual temporary housing units there once the group site is completed. (photo by Chris Gardner, New York District public affairs)

Supporting the War Effort. The first platoon of the 117th AHC, had a popular Playboy magazine cartoon character "Little Annie Fanny" nose art. Here we are attempting to act as "athletic supporters" Vietnam 1967. When we entered country we were given jungle boots, composed of fabric and leather. Because of the fire danger we were exposed to in the event of a crash, we were reissued leather boots and wore leather gloves.
Crews have poured the concrete to build the first above-ground support columns, seen in the photo in green, for the new I-85 North Bridge over the Yadkin River in Davidson and Rowan counties.
The concrete truck poured the concrete into a hopper on a pump truck. The concrete was then pumped through a pipe into the column.
Etchingham Supporting Ukraine - - - Following the request to the world from President Zelensky, Etchingham decided to show its solidarity with Ukraine. People gathered in the Queen’s Garden under the Ukrainian flag for a minute of silence thinking of those who have died, are injured, or are fleeing for their lives to foreign lands.
There was then a minute of applause in honour of those who are fighting to uphold the status of Ukraine as an independent nation. As we stood there in the sunshine of an English spring day,
We were reminded of our tremendous luck at having been born where we were, with the ability to speak out if we wish. We hope this privilege is maintained in Ukraine after this sorry affair is over.

PATRICK AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. - The 641st Regional Support Group, an Army Reserve logistics and transportation brigade based in St. Petersburg, Fla., conducted a Best Warrior Competition and Officer Challenge Jan. 24 at Patrick Air Force Base, Fla.
Both competitions took place during the final full day of Operation Responsive Sentinel, a sustainment training and disaster relief field exercise comprising approximately 20 units and 900 Soldiers. Resolve Sentinel's operational and tactical missions at Port Canaveral, Patrick AFB and the Air Force's Malabar Transmitter Annex offered numerous opportunities for the troops to apply their military and civilian skills to plan, organize and execute objectives on land and sea.
The Best Warrior Competition featured six enlisted Soldiers representing several companies and battalions attached to the 641st RSG. The half-dozen men and women faced off in a various warrior-oriented tasks ranging from a written exam and sergeants major interview board to a ruck march and a rifle and pistol qualification round.
The top two competitors will represent the 641st RSG in the 143d Sustainment Command
(Expeditionary)'s Best Warrior Competition planned for March 9-13 at Camp Blanding, Fla.
While specialists and sergeants shot, sang, ran and marched their way to the finish line, scores of junior officers formed at Patrick AFB's Education and Training Center to test their strength, dexterity, memory and morale in the 641st RSG's officer challenge. Teams of five officers competed at six unique
stations spread along a six-mile route. The challenge began with map reading and rank recognition events, continued with casualty evacuation scenario and a ethical dilemma, and concluded with a physical challenge and rifle marksmanship.

Soldiers from the Nebraska Army National Guard's Company G, 2-104th Aviation Regiment (General Support Aviation Battalion) – along with Cpl. Vanessa O’Gorman, a medical technician with the 1 Canadian Field Hospital – help transport a simulated wounded patient from a UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter during a medical evacuation training mission exercise, May 14, to ambulances and crews from Canada’s 5 Field Ambulance for transport to a Unit Medical Station. O’Gorman spent the majority of the two-week exercise training with Sgt. Jason Dillon, a flight medic from Seward, Nebraska, and Sgt. Raymond Smith, a crew chief from Lincoln, Nebraska, learning how American forces conduct air medical evacuations. More than 150 Soldiers from the Nebraska Army National Guard’s 1-376th Aviation Regiment traveled to Camp Wainwright in Alberta, Canada, May 8-24, for Exercise Maple Resolve 2018, the Canadian Army’s most comprehensive annual training event designed for any contingency operation. This year’s Maple Resolve included approximately 6,000 service members from Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and France. Working with Canadian Armed Forces, primarily from 5 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group (5 CMBG), Nebraska’s aviation battalion served two primary missions, including 24-hour medical evacuation training and support, and air support to all ground defenses. Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness
Close bosom-friend of the maturing sun
Conspiring with him how to load and bless
With fruit the vines that round the thatch-eves run;
To bend with apples the moss'd cottage-trees,
And fill all fruit with ripeness to the core;
To swell the gourd, and plump the hazel shells
With a sweet kernel; to set budding more,
And still more, later flowers for the bees,
Until they think warm days will never cease,
For Summer has o'er-brimm'd their clammy cells. --To Autumn. by John Keats
