2012 Disney Princess Classic Film Collection - 10 Doll Set
US Disney Store
$99.50 US
Released in stores around October 25, 2012
Released online on October 29, 2012
Personal Photos
This 10 doll set was actually released a couple of months ago in the UK, but without warning it just appeared in my local Disney Store in the US on Oct 25, 2012. It now also available online in the US Disney Store website, as of Oct 29, 2012. The US version has the dolls in reverse order, with Rapunzel in the top left slot, and Snow White in the bottom right slot. The dolls themselves appear to be identical to the UK version. They have the new faces and hairstyles, but the old bodies (with the rubber legs, and no ankle joints), and the old nearly glitter-free outfits of the 2011 set. The set sells for the old price of $99.50 US. I purchased the set, and will post photos of it boxed, during deboxing and fully deboxed, and grouped with comparable dolls.

WWII Bomber flight officer’s family honored by Georgia Guardsmen
November 16, 2014
STORY AND PHOTOS BY STAFF SGT. TRACY J. SMITH
OGLETHORPE ARMORY, Ellenwood, Ga., Nov. 16, 2014 – The family of U.S. Army Flight Officer Frank J. Pryor, Jr. were honored at a small ceremony hosted by the 348th Brigade Support Battalion, Sunday, as part of the unit’s ongoing Veterans Day recognition activities.
Pryor, an Atlanta native, was assigned to the 213th of the Army Air Corps’ Gowen Field, Idaho in 1945.
Nearly six-decades later the 348th BSB ‘Trailblazers’ and the Army’s Survivor’s Outreach Services would recognize the Pryor family with the presentation of a Quilt of Valor and Gold Star Service flag.
Such formal presentations are not common for the SOS program but the Pryor family reached out to representatives, who manage the program from the Georgia National Guard’s Oglethorpe Armory, wanting to share their collection of the elder Pryor’s military history with the Georgia Guardsmen who serve today.
On display were the letters and other items Mrs. Dora Pryor, the widow of FO Pryor, had begun to collect for her son, along with the telegraph formally notifying her of her husband’s death and a hand crafted flag that was flown over the White House prior to being placed on the deceased flight officer’s casket as was the tradition of that time.
In 1945 the flag contained only 48 stars as Alaska and Hawaii would not join the Union until almost 15-years later.
Although Pryor did not lose his life in the throes of war the crew was preparing for their deployment to take the fight to the air in Europe and this flight was part of that February training mission. Returning from Utah and nearing their home station, a sudden blizzard would impede navigation and visibility and be the demise of the B-24J bomber ‘The Liberator’ finding its final resting place on Mt. Harrison.
Search and rescue efforts took days as the weather proved hazardous for horse mounted teams combing the frigid mountainside.
Pryor and his young wife, Dora, were newlyweds and, with the flight initially being reported as missing she began to keep a diary and news clippings as the teams continued their search.
She would cling to hope of his, and the crews, survival as she had not shared the news of her pregnancy with her husband.
Eight days later the plane and crew were found and the young, newlywed mother would then find herself in the unexpected role of widow.
In late February, preparing to return to Atlanta, she penned, ‘felt so alone going home.’
Months later she gave birth to Frank Pryor III and he would grow up reading his mother’s diary, caring for the photos and mementos of letters, telegraphs and clippings she collected and adding to them as the Liberator’s crew were honored and remembered throughout the years.
“This is our opportunity to embrace our (Georgia) Guard family here in Ellenwood,” Gladys Portwine, one of the SOS Support Coordinators based at the Ellenwood Armory and a retired Georgia Army National Guard Command Sgt. Major. “We encourage our survivor families to continue to be a part of their communities and the unique story of the prior family during the commemorations of Veterans Day gave us that common ground to shine a positive light on our role in these families’ lives.”
The son of Frank, Jr. and Dora was open, honored and smiling as he shared his father’s story with the Warriors at Oglethorpe.
Standing beside a prominent portrait of his father a hint of red was seen at the corner of his smile when it was pointed out how striking the resemblance of him and the young flight crewman.
Now in his 60s, the son feels closer than ever to the father he has never met.
“My dad will always be 22-years old,” Pryor said. “When we finally meet he will probably have a laugh when he looks at me and says ‘so that’s what I was supposed to look like.’ “
Dora reached out to the other crew members’ families throughout the years never wanting to lose the bond of service to country that has been untethered throughout the ages.
“Those letters that she wrote and relationships she maintained are probably the most valued of all the things she collected for me,” Pryor stated as he thumbed through a scrapbook of memories with the Soldiers.
“We honor the Pryor’s for their sacrifices and allowing us to share (FO Pryor’s) history,” Lt. Col. Thomas Meeks, 348th BSB Battalion Commander explained to the audience prior to the presentations. “Today is our way of reassuring the family of our fallen brother that as American Soldiers, today, we will always honor those who came before us.”

Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness
Close bosom-friend of the maturing sun
Conspiring with him how to load and bless
With fruit the vines that round the thatch-eves run;
To bend with apples the moss'd cottage-trees,
And fill all fruit with ripeness to the core;
To swell the gourd, and plump the hazel shells
With a sweet kernel; to set budding more,
And still more, later flowers for the bees,
Until they think warm days will never cease,
For Summer has o'er-brimm'd their clammy cells. --To Autumn. by John Keats

Community health worker Eunice Nalokita, 23, conducts a mother-to-mother support group in her village of Manyatta Zebra in central Kenya. Eunice, together with her fellow community health worker, Christine, founded the group with the support of our partner ADSMKE.
Eunice and Christine teach women about hygiene and sanitation, nutrition, how to breastfeed and about the importance of going to antenatal check-ups and delivering in hospital.
In the three years since the group was set up the health of women and children in the village has been transformed. For example, there are very few cases of diarrhoea now as women know how to treat water and have much better levels of hygiene in the home.
As part of the mother support group the women in the village were given chicks to rear and were shown how to grow their own vegetables. They use the money they get from selling their excess crops to buy more seeds.

Verdi 15 Occupata.

FORT BRAGG, N.C. --- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Savannah District completed this $11 million Training Support Center in April 2011, which serves as a central location for all Army training aids, products and devices on Fort Bragg. Additionally, the 118,700 square-foot facility includes 12 training rooms where Soldiers use advanced video gaming technology for virtual weapons training. The sophisticated technology mimics real world battlefield scenarios and provides Soldiers with useful feedback for improving their accuracy and precision in weapons firing. With construction performed by North Carolina-based prime contractor Osborne Company, this project is the first warehouse facility of its type in the Army. It will serve as a prototype for similar facilities at other major Army installations worldwide. USACE photo by Tracy Robillard.

Volunteer: Nemesia & Jo Lynch - Volunteer Dates: Oct 02 - Nov 10, 2013 - Location: La Serena Chile Project: Orphanage Support
www.abroaderview.org/feedbacks/chile/395-nemesia-jo-lynch...
Our favorite memories...
Nemesia: There is many to choose from but my favorite memory from working at the home was our last day when we gave the Tias we had been working with cards that we had translated what we wanted to say into Spanish. The Tia I worked with actually cried as I was finally able to tell her I admired her and that she made me proud of my Chilean heritage.
My favorite part of staying in our accommodation was being escorted by the two dogs that lived down the road every morning to the bus stop. Everywhere we went in La Serena, including the shopping centres, we had a dog follow or escort us there! It was great company.
Jo: I became very close to one particular baby girl who I was told, was very unsettled around men before I came. We bought her a little present when we left and despite being sick she was still really excited when we handed it to her, waving her arms around and squealing.
We were surprised that:
Nemesia: Before we came to La Serena we were in Cusco Perú which has a huge tourism industry and it's not to hard to find someone who speaks English there. I was surprised that almost no one spoke English in La Serena. It was actually very helpful because it forced me to work harder on my Spanish.
Jo: I was surprised that the home was as well organized and clean as it was; despite the little funding they receive.
The most difficult thing we experienced was:
Nemesia: It can be very hard working with children and not getting emotionally attached to them and wishing you could do more for them. I just had to keep reminding myself of the fantastic work the Tias do and that they genuinely love and care for each and every child with the little they have.
Jo: Language barrier!
Our best received lessons:
Nemesia: Each day I would learn a little more about taking care of children from 10 days to 18 months old from watching the Tias; from changing nappies to feeding and burping. I am definitely a pro now at getting babies to sleep! (which I am sure will help in the future)
I also learnt a lot of Chilean slang by just listening to the conversations around me which put a lot of words that my Chilean family say into context for me which was a really fun experience. The Tias have such great senses of humour; they made learning Spanish funny.
Jo: Feeding a one year old without making a mess! Very challenging!
Tips for future volunteers:
Nemesia: Be prepared to get sick! The children are constantly battling the flu as they no sooner get better and get it from another child in the home; so be prepared to get the flu for a couple days. There is a juice stand on the way to the orphanage, we tried to drink as much orange juice as we could to combat the flu.
Crews have poured the concrete to build the first above-ground support columns, seen in the photo in green, for the new I-85 North Bridge over the Yadkin River in Davidson and Rowan counties.
The concrete truck poured the concrete into a hopper on a pump truck. The concrete was then pumped through a pipe into the column.
Sergeant Major Joseph Roberts assumed the responsibility as the senior non-commissioned officer for the Army Field Support Battalion Kandahar, 401st AFSB, in a change of responsibility ceremony at battalion headquarters Aug. 27.
About the 401st:
The 401st Army field Support Brigade provides Soldiers, Sailors, Airman, and Marines, the tools and resources necessary to complete the mission. If they shoot, drive it, fly it, wear it, eat it or communicate with it, the 401st helps provide it. The brigade assists coalition partners with many of their logistical and sustainment needs. The brigade also handles the responsible disposition of equipment in Afghanistan to support evolving missions. We are the single link between Warfighters in the field, and working through Army Sustainment Command, we leverage Army Materiel Command’s worldwide Materiel Enterprise to develop, deliver, and sustain materiel to ensure a dominant joint force for the U.S. and our Allies.
