South Haven Lighthouse on Lake Michigan. Winds were hitting 40-50 MPH gusts. Supposedly the second most intense storm on record. Barometric pressures equal a Cat 2 Hurricane.
I had the pleasure of meeting up with a couple of other Flicker friends.

i wish the foreground was a bit brighter. used blackcard trick - i likes it very much!
I popped up to the top of Beeding Hill at sunset and found some attractive and obliging sheep who looked at me, stood still and smiled when asked politely. They even arranged themselves into a fairly pleasing composition. Splendid.
Are these Southdown sheep? Any sheep experts out there? They were quite small and chubby-looking with very round faces, as you can see.
Update: I'm told they're Dorset Down sheep, a cross between the Southdown and Hampshire breeds.
Went to visit my friend Sara in Tucson, my flight was delayed, so as we took off I got to enjoy a San Diego sunset from the sky!
As always, a walk round Derwentwater towards Sunset , especially in the Autumn or Winter , gives wonderful opportunities. This is from the Eastern Shore between Friars Crag and the Great Wood
Sunset at Strumble Head. 17/04/2010. 28-70mm f2.8. Nikon D700.
The Lighthouse is fully automated and access to the small Island is restricted to a few visits per year.

The next day, the Moon eclipsed Venus as seen from Europe.
