Coal Harbour presents as if painted by water colours.
The reflections of the City of Vancouver is mirrored against the calm ocean surface.
Coal Harbour is a section of Burrard Inlet lying between Vancouver's Downtown Peninsula and the Brockton Point of Stanley Park.

"We waited for the sun to set over Satang Island, hoping for that perfect golden farewell. But nature had other plans. The sun hid behind clouds, its light breaking through just enough to remind us of its presence. Not dramatic, but quietly beautiful.
Sunsets, like our lives, don’t follow a script. Each one is unique—some bold, others gentle—yet all fleeting and final. They remind us to pause, to feel, and to appreciate the beauty in what is, not what we expected.
May we all set as gracefully and beautifully as the sun—leaving behind a sky that remembers we were here."
A restaurant / bar that apparently is only open Friday - Sunday. So of course we were there Monday - Thursday. But it gave me a cool scene after a big rain. Not too shabby for a phone pic me thinks. I took this while on our trip to east Texas to Caddo Lake. This place is on the bayou leading into the lake and our house rental was just down the bayou a bit from here.
Again here a longer shutter speed, I wanted to capture the flow of odd bit`s and pieces floating by as the incoming tide flowed past my Tripod.
Bosham harbour on a lovely still evening .
Another from the river bank , the tide was full the wind had dropped and the cloud cover was drifting away revealing some lovely colours and I was enjoying myself, the River Adur at Upper Beeding in Sussex.
Same sky, another day, and always different . My evening walk around Chamber's Bay Golf Course, University Place, Washington. 3.2 miles with some serious hills and gorgeous views. Site of 2015 U.S. Open
In the Lençóis Maranhenses National Park near Barreirinhas, tropical rains transform the hollows between dunes into freshwater lagoons each year. This fleeting phenomenon, visible for only a few months, creates a unique landscape where white sand and turquoise water coexist in silent harmony. In this sunset image, a lagoon winds between golden dunes, reflecting the warm glow of the sky. Two birds cross the horizon in flight, adding life to this peaceful scene shaped by water, wind, and light. A suspended moment in a desert that isn’t truly a desert.
Luce e silenzio… poesia salata.

Alone… yet whole within its own universe.
The small boat drifts in liquid gold while the sunset sets the water on fire, and time simply dissolves into calm.
Light and silence… sea poetry.

Bridge Lake (historically known as Greater Fish Lake) is a lake in the Interlakes District of the South Cariboo region of the Interior of British Columbia, Canada. It is the source of Bridge Creek which runs in a curving course west and then northeast to Canim Lake via the town of 100 Mile House. The lake is approximately 16 km2 in area (including the area of several islands and rocks in the lake, the largest of which is named Long Island and is 1136 m in elevation. It is located 560 km north of Vancouver and around 140 km northwest of Kamloops in the Interlakes District close to the Little Fort Highway (BC Highway 24). It and its neighbours Sheridan Lake and Lac des Roches are the largest lakes along the Interlakes Highway.
The community of Bridge Lake (pop. 500) and Bridge Lake Centennial Provincial Park are located at the eastern end of the lake. Just east of Bridge Lake is Lac des Roches while just west of it is Sheridan Lake; the three are the largest lakes in the district between Canim Lake to the north and Bonaparte lake to the southeast. The basin of the Bonaparte River is just south of Bridge Lake, in the form of its tributary the Rayfield River.. Wikipedia

A closeup of the pink sunset clouds reflecting on the blue water. I like this concept but I think the ISO is too high, since I was using an old point and shoot camera while my Sony Nex was running a time-lapse. I think I will try to re-do this concept sometime with the better camera. This is also why I'm considering that I might need a second Nex camera - I am doing so many time-lapses lately and I would love to have a second camera to play with while the time-lapse is going. Using my old cameras impacts the photo quality.
I took this the other day at the North end of Pismo Beach. In the left of the sky you can see a "sun dog" of light reflected in the pooled water of the beach.

Location: On a farm at Hoeko, near Ladismith in the Little Karoo
Description: I’ve just returned from a nine day break on my farm in the Little Karoo… and I can honestly say that they were some of the best days in my life!!
If you live in South Africa and have not yet visited this part of the country, then do yourself a favour, book yourself into any Calitzdorp guest house for a few days… you’ll never forget that experience!! Just don’t forget to take your camera and lots of memory-sticks!!!
Believe it or not, I actually took more than 200 photographs of this dam in about thirty minutes… which is definitely a record for me!!! The light and reflections were gorgeous when I arrived shortly before sunset… and they just kept getting better and better!!
This one is quite dark, but you'll see lots of foreground detail when you click here.

a trial is not won in a single, brilliant moment.
it is won in the quiet, repetitive work that no one sees.
the endless turning of pages.
the steady rhythm of a thousand small steps.
it is a long distance, run against the fading light,
with only your own reflection as a witness.
there is no finish line.
there is only the next step.
and the one after that.

The sun sets over Beck Lake on the east side of Cody, Wyoming. Rattlesnake Mountain lies on the left side of the panorama. Shoshone Canyon cuts through the south end of the ridge. The calm lake reflects the warm evening colors as autumn grasses frame the scene.
A quiet moment at sunset, where the pier reaches into calm waters glowing with warm evening light. The sky painted in soft purples and gold makes this a scene of peace and reflection.
I was walking on the beach when this happened, a hole in the clouds where the light came through, this is what passed for a sunset I managed to find a pool to catch the reflection though . This is the same marker post that featured in my previous image www.flickr.com/photos/17469730@N00/50660050208/in/datetak..., you can see how the power of the sea has bent it backwards as well as to the East.
It was a nice misty start this morning around my house but as I headed inland the mist just faded away but I got some woodland images none the less.

After photographing a flock of Swans I moved on up river to a spot I have come to know well.
I can thread my way across a couple of weed beds all the while avoiding the sticky areas.
The sky came out better than I anticipated reflecting in the river together with the reflected Lancing college chapel, fish were moving and splashing about in front of my tripod but their ripples were quickly carried away downstream as the river flowed out towards the sea.
On of the last shots of the evening with the sunset after glow, looking towards the bright lights of Brighton way off in the distance.
The tractor tracks through the wheat peel off left and right towards the edge of this narrow field.
After days of staring at screens and chasing deadlines, I needed a reset. So, I grabbed my camera and made my way to the rocky beach, hoping the sunset would offer something worth capturing. As I set up my shot, the sky was already shifting—warm tones spilling over the water, the pier stretching out like a quiet path into the evening. The textured rocks in the foreground added depth, framing the scene just right. More than just a photo, this was a moment to breathe—to slow down and take in something real before heading back to the noise of work.
Beautiful view looking back at the Outer Banks from the Nags Head Fishing Pier as the sun is setting to the west and the Atlantic Ocean sparkles to the east...enjoy the view!
Three bracketed photos were taken with a handheld Nikon D7200 and combined with Photomatix Pro to create this HDR image. Additional adjustments were made in Photoshop CS6.

Another from my wander up the River Adur at sunset, I have skipped a few images to get to this time when the lights on the chapel of Lancing college came on, the sky was starting to change colour and the wind picked up a little to disturb the water surface but I did like how a smooth bit of water was left undisturbed to almost create a lead in the to the far river bank.
I still have plenty of that evenings images which will pop up from time to time.
This is Ponte Sant’Angelo, gracefully glowing under the warm sunset hues. The reflections on the Tiber River create a dreamy vibe that’s impossible to resist. 😍 Just across, the majestic Castel Sant’Angelo watches over the scene, steeped in centuries of history.
Is there a better way to soak in the beauty of the Eternal City? I think not. ️💛

A chance visit as was passing at sunset proved to be a blast as this was the only time i have got something decent for sunset at this spot. Consequently being such a vibrant sunset it was standing room only.
A re-edit of a old crop sensor image with some decent noise reduction. Yay for new software...
Its also included with a bunch of other Coromandel images at this link;
A re-edit of an image I took in June last year (page 2 of my portfolio here on Flickr). I think I prefer the colours in this one. What do u think?
