After attending the mandatory muster drill, I headed to the Oceanview Bar (a.k.a. Sunset Bar) on Deck 10 of the Celebrity Constellation to take in the views as we sailed away from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale. I had previously organized an informal sail-away meet & mingle with fellow members from our Cruise Critic roll call, and they proved to be a very fun and friendly group. As we headed out into the Atlantic Ocean, I made my way to the railing to capture some photos of the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood/Miami skyline at sunset. (It's a bit difficult to tell where Fort Lauderdale ends and Hollywood/Miami Beach/Miami begins, since all of the coastal cities feature high-rise buildings extending along the waterfront.)
A Caribbean Airlines 737 over the end of the runway next to Maho Beach. Everyone's taking pictures of the incoming flight. Seen from the deck of the Sunset Bar & Grill. We stopped here on our way to drop off Lisa and Meredith at the airport. Our own flight was two hours later.
By the way, those "danger" signs are about the blast from jet engines as planes prepare for takeoff here. The danger is real. In this video (not mine), the blast blows a girl across the street and slams her into a concrete wall.
Beer Lao the way God intended: in a bar on the banks of the muddy Mekong. Still, this beer is overrated.
I don't recommend you looking through a long lens at the sun, it's not good for your eyes. This shot from the Sunset Bar of the Paloma Club Sultan was taken resting the lens on the railing and then composed using live view.

The Travel Channel voted the Sunset Bar & Grill the third sexiest beach bar in the world. Looking at this picture you can see why! (Lisa, Linda, and Meredith going a little crazy!)
A backdrop to the stage at the Sunset Bar & Grill where the Travel Channel says "each Tuesday they hold a bikini contest -- and they encourage participants to get a little crazy in order to walk home with a little cash."

A peaceful evening at Nitiporn Resort on Koh Payam, one of Thailand’s hidden gems. This beachfront resort offers a laid-back atmosphere, where guests can enjoy a drink under the warm glow of lanterns while listening to the gentle sound of the waves. The bar, beautifully illuminated at night, provides the perfect spot for travelers seeking a tropical escape. Whether you’re sipping on a fresh coconut or indulging in a classic Thai cocktail, this place is the epitome of island relaxation.
Sunset over the Isle Of Wight as seen from the Sunset Bay at the aft of deck 16 of Britannia as we sail westwards leaving the Isle Of Wight behind us, also visible is another P&O ship, Azura, which has headed south on the long cruise towards the Mediterranean.

Folks at Maho Beach and on the deck of the Sunset Bar & Grill wait for the next airliner to come in for a landing over their heads.
We stopped at the Sunset Bar & Grill to watch the planes land over Maho Beach -- before we went to the airport ourselves! This guy is checking for the next scheduled arrival on the upright surfboard outside the bar.

Mike joined me at the beginning of the meetup, but left early to work out in the ship's fitness room.

A look back at the Isle Of Wight at sunset from Britannia on the lido deck (deck 16) on the first night of a seven night cruise to Norway from Southampton.

Caribbean Airlines - Boeing 737-8Q8(WL) - 9Y-KIN (c/n 28234/680)
This Caribbean Airlines 737 takes off in the unusual east to west direction from Princess Juliana Airport (SXM), just above the Sunset Bar & Grill surfboard arrivals board.
This aircraft formerly flew under the same registration for Caribbean predecessor British West Indies Airways (BWIA) until January 2007.
Friends old and new overlooking Acapulco Bay during our winter vacation in March 2023. We enjoyed a week of perfect sunny weather at the Vidanta on Playa Diamante just south of the main bay. We stayed at this same location last year and made several new friends who we connected with again this year, along with 2 friends who frequently join us on our Mexico adventures but had not yet been to Acapulco. On this evening the full group of 10 of us enjoyed a night out in Acapulco, here at the Sunset Bar at Las Brisas, to enjoy a cocktail and watch yet another gorgeous Acapulco sunset. It was a fun evening with delightful company, and a great vacation overall.

Maybe it's because I don't want to finish uploading photos from my Summer holiday yet but after a sq crop and an increase in contrast and I think I maybe prefer this version of the view from the Sunset Bar of the Paloma Club Sultan on the last evening of our holiday in Turkey.
