Beach Club Meditation

Beach Club Meditation
The last paradise in Ibiza. It is a miracle that we are able to enjoy a natural place such as this. All that you have heard about the Sunset Ashram is nothing in comparison to the real thing. You have to see it to believe it.
Believe in the nature that you represent, the way you feel a sunset, a fussion of your inner nature and the natural world. This moment, without knowing why you stop thinking.
This is the message from Sunset Ashram, feel and give the intellect a vacation for a while. Feel free, fear is killing and courage is healing.

Shooting my favorite livery against a deep blue sky is always a pleasure, more so when it's done at Maho Beach at St.Maarten.

The highest peak of Bali, Gunung Agung, is most revered. The Balinese collectively believe in its mystical power. It is so central to the Balinese Hindu religion that the island’s holiest temple, Besakih, is nestled almost a thousand meters up its slope.

I decided to get closer to the beach. The sun was sinking quick. Suddenly a girl in hijab came out from nowhere and walked across the beach. There was little time to move forward so I could not get a tighter shot.

The reverse view to many of those photographed by me during my trip to St Maarten. Taken from a Winair DHC-6 Twin Otter on a flight from St Barths.

After attending the mandatory muster drill, I headed to the Oceanview Bar (a.k.a. Sunset Bar) on Deck 10 of the Celebrity Constellation to take in the views as we sailed away from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale. I had previously organized an informal sail-away meet & mingle with fellow members from our Cruise Critic roll call, and they proved to be a very fun and friendly group. As we headed out into the Atlantic Ocean, I made my way to the railing to capture some photos of the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood/Miami skyline at sunset. (It's a bit difficult to tell where Fort Lauderdale ends and Hollywood/Miami Beach/Miami begins, since all of the coastal cities feature high-rise buildings extending along the waterfront.)
Ich habe Start und Landung mal auf einem kleinen Filmchen festgehalten. Ich hoffe es gefällt euch. Leider konnte ich die Kamera nicht immer ruhig halten ;-)

The final sunset from our week at the Paloma Club Sultan and it didn't disappoint. A slight haziness gave the colours a bit of extra glow, although admittedly I may have given this a little boost in LIghtroom.......
The daily Air France flight lands low over the famed Maho Beach. The Sunset Bar and Grill is the perfect plane spotting location. You don't even have to get up from your beer to grab the shot.
Baltic Sea - The aptly named sunset bar on the "Celebrity Silhouette", with the bar lights illuminated by the setting sun.
A Caribbean Airlines 737 coming in for a landing over Maho Beach on St. Martin. Seen from the deck at the Sunset Bar & Grill, which has decks outside for watching these arrivals. We stopped there on our way to the airport to drop off Lisa and Meredith. Our own flight was two hours later.

Well, Karyn and I just returned from our belated honeymoon in the eastern Caribbean! It was a great trip, and we are now going through the pictures. We were on the Carnival Dream, the largest ship in Carnival Cruise Line's fleet.

This was taken from the famous Maho Beach in which the planes land right over your head. The larger they are, the earlier in the runway they must touch down, and the closer to your head they are.
More pictures from St. Maarten, St. Thomas, Bahamas, and even Epcot (for New Year's Eve) to come.
During our weeks stay at the Paloma Club Sultan we only saw a couple of clouds, one of the only time I missed them was when I was photographing the sunsets. That's not to say the sunsets we had weren't beautiful, they were just a bit predictable.
