After the first snow of December 2011, this was the scene on Saturday 10/12/2011 high in the Staffordshire Moorlands part of the Peak District, not far from a village called Longnor. This HDR image was taken about 15-20 minutes before sunset. No doubt there'll be lots more snow to come up here this winter.

Thor's Well, the endless heaving of the tide, time slowed down, in the last minutes of the fading glow. The shape of the water takes on a new spirit-like form as it falls back into the depths of the rock from were it came, in its return to the sea for the resetting of the cycle.

A pretty care free sunset for a care free cormorant. A great place to sit and watch a day of diving come to the end.
Edmonds, Washington always has something to offer at sunset.
