This was done after the hearts and before the balloons. It isn't quite my favorite and I am not proud of it but ... someone might like it.

Anyhow, I took a girl sitting on a stool and put her in a tree, then I added a butterfly wing. Changed the hue of her dress and blurred the background. Vignetted.

A few weeks ago it was cold and rainy and now suddenly its been a week full of sun and spring.

Penelope thought today was the perfect day to get some sunbathing done.

Doesnt she look adorable?!

Where better than the sea wall to lay and sunbathe? Can't imagine it was very comfy though.

This is the seventh in a series of images for the week from the National Zoo in Washington, D.C. Another big cat. This fine looking tiger was enjoying the spring sun after a long winter. The rich greens of his environment framed him nicely for this profile shot.

Processing technique #7: Add texture layers for nuance I periodically add texture layers to images such as this which add (for lack of better words) "thickness" to an image. It adds a degree of complexity to the existing textures and enables me to help my subject/color pop a little more. I added two texture layers here - one set to multiply blend mode at about 55% opacity and one set to soft light blend at about 11% opacity. I am a big fan of the work that Kim Klassen does in developing textures. She has a newsletter that you can sign up for where she gives you free textures on a near weekly level. Thanks, Kim!

Great leg spread and chest!

After taking over a hundred shots of hummingbirds this morning, I decided to shoot one in RAW. Oh, I am glad I did this. It really helps with the dynamic range.

The last chance to Sunbathe before Winter

Taken on a rare glimpse of the sun recently. I think the seagull was enjoying topping up its Vitamin D. the splodge underneath is ... well I will leave it to your imagination!
