This is Summit Lodge, the exclusive hilltop residence of a reclusive entrepreneur, whose husband is obsessed with cultivating rare yellow roses in the garden. The house can only be reached by climbing the winding step up the side of the mountain. An infinity pool on the secluded rear patio flows over the cliff to the lake below, while the rugged terrain is dotted with rock-loving greenery. Ref: D1567-011

O grande encontro da comunidade imobiliária brasileira foi realizado nos dias 12 e 13 de maio, no Viasoft Experience, em Curitiba.

The Summit was attended by the prime ministers from the region, comprising of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, FYR Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia.

EBRD President Sir Suma Chakrabarti and UK Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond opened the event with key note addresses. After a prime ministers’ session government ministers, political decision-makers and leading entrepreneurs and investors took part in three discussions. The panels debated the development of transport links, the potential for renewable energy and the privatisation agenda in the Western Balkans.

The EBRD-backed SEE Link, an innovative regional platform for trading securities listed on the Bulgarian, Croatian and Macedonian stock exchanges, was launched during the Summit. The Serbian and Slovenian bourses confirmed their intention to join the initiative during the conference in London, boosting regional integration of capital markets.

The event aimed to highlight investment and business opportunities in the region and promote the inflow of foreign direct investment and cross-border projects. Participants had the opportunity to engage directly with key political and business representatives.

The Summit follows the first Western Balkans Investment Forum at the EBRD in February 2014 which for the first time had brought together all prime ministers from the region.

The EBRD is one of the largest investors in the Western Balkans and last year alone the Bank invested around €1 billion in various projects from energy efficiency to infrastructure and from support for financial institutions to agribusiness

This one could've come out a bit sharper but it was a cracking view.

I don't usually load whole series but I thought these told a story. These guys made an amazing climb. I went around the back way.... I don't do heights like this.... super dizzy.

Please view the series in large thanks.

This was taken just after Christmas 2008 from the summit of Tryffan in the Snowdonia national park in North Wales. A day I won't easily forget as on top of the view, my wife slipped and fell on the way down and we ended up descending the majority of the way at the courtesy of the RAF! Don't worry, she's fine now!

Snaefell Mountain Railway tram 4 at Snaefell Summit

Built in 1895 as the fourth of a batch of 6 cars, Car No.2 arrived in the Spring of that year. Power for the Car was by Bow Collectors with Mather and Platt electrical equipment, trucks and controllers, and Braking using the Fell Rail system. As new, the cars were delivered without glazed windows and clerestories. Both were fitted in Spring 1896 (following complaints of wind, as the original canvas roller blinds did not offer much protection), and in 1897 (after the window fitment, they became too warm in the summer!). In the 1900s the cars were fitted with distinctive roof advertising boards, which were used to promote the trip to the summit.

The Summit-end Control equipment was changed in 1903/04 from the original Mather and Platt example to use a General Electric K11 Controller, and later a K12 Controller in 1954. The original Laxey-end Controller remained in use, as it was only ever used for short amounts of time (shunting and starting the car down the gradient).

Car No.4 was one of two Snaefell Cars (Car No.2 the other) to carry the Nationalised Green livery, applied from 1958. No.4 became the last car/trailer in the M.E.R/S.M.R fleets to carry the scheme.

In 1976 the original Mather and Platt traction motors of the Snaefell cars were becoming worn out, and the decision was made to re-quip the entire 6 car-fleet as a whole with materials and control equipment from German Aachen Tramcars.

Car No.4 has only recently returned to service after an overhual

The project initiative of mica – music austria, the University of Continuing Education Krems, the Ars Electronica Festival and the Austrian Music Council aims to advance the professionalization of musicians as modern entrepreneurs in the music business. To this end, representatives from education, the music industry and politics were invited to a “Music Summit” in order to engage in a joint dialogue and design formats that are open to all music makers-regardless of their educational background. The results of the “Music Summit” was presented in a public roundtable on sunday, september 12, at 3:00 p.m. at the Ars Electronica Festival.
