Sick of Brazil photos yet? View of Botafogo bay, with Corcovado and the Christ statue under clouds at dusk, from the Sugarloaf mountain. These photos had so much potential, but because of bad weather, with fog and clouds obscuring the view every few seconds, it was not possible to do longer exposures than a few seconds, plus the old camera with a soiled sensor needed a lot of cleaning up, thus less than ideal sharpness and image quality, I'll try again next time I go to Rio.
Sugarloaf Mountain, NL.
This photo was taken today, December 19. It was so cold outside. I'm happy that it finally snowed though, :)

Sugarloaf Rock, Yallingup WA

I would have liked to make longer exposures, but it was really windy and camera shake was a problem.
View of the sea and sandy beach from the lighthouse at Sugarloaf Point, NSW.
Points of interest: a bird in the bush (left) and four wheel drive tracks in the sand (right)

A weekend at Eagle Bay with the family allowed for a vhance to shoot Sugarloaf at night. I would prefer to see the milkyway but an almost full moon and the wrong time of night wasnt going to make that possible. That will be another trip. The moon was so bright i almost didnt need a torch. So i went for a long exposure but the clouds were rolling in so this is the result. Pretty happy with the detail.
The glorious arch of the Milky Way hanging low Over the Sugarloaf Rock, the ethereal air glow over the ocean, and the Lighthouse guiding the way for our closest neighbour, Andromeda.
This shot is dedicated to my great Flickr buddy Nora. Have a happy birthday tomorrow :)
Sugarloaf rock is located in the holiday region of Dunsborough about 2.5 hours south of Perth. It is an area of scenic pristine coastline.
I used a NDX400 filter to slow the exposure to capture the cloud movement.
I saw this view from the top of Sugarloaf Mountain in Maine. The layers in the cloud really jumped out at me.
Waited until after sunset and probably close to having no light at all but I liked the result and colours in the rocks. It's good to know that despite how many pictures are taken of a location you can still find a unique angle.
Colored Pencil magazine’s Fresh and Fruity challenge by Karen Emerson, intermediate cat. Used Faber Castell polychromos on Clairefontaine Pastelmat, 9 x 13 , color sand. I loved doing this challenge because I finally get to use all the fun colors! My husband and I moved to Kauai 4 years ago and one of the many fun things we get to do is grow our own pineapples. This pineapple is called a sugarloaf pineapple. They are less acidic and have a smooth sweet taste. Next time you visit Hawaii , go to a local farmers market and try one. During the 2 year growth cycle, the leaves turn from green and light pink (like the one in the background ) to bright pinks and reds! Can you imagine a field of pineapples when they are all in this stage!
Dai the Drone was in the boot when I took a stop at the picnic area on the top of the Sugarloaf near Llanwrtyd Wells. Well, eating my lunch would have been boring if I didn't include Dai for 5 minutes. I was lucky with the sun breaking through the clouds.
"Caminante, son tus huellas
el camino, y nada más;
caminante, no hay camino,
se hace camino al andar.
Al andar se hace camino,
y al volver la vista atrás
se ve la senda que nunca
se ha de volver a pisar.
Caminante, no hay camino,
sino estelas en la mar." Antonio Machado
