This is a strange house built into the cliff on one of the islands near Bequia. It is abandoned now. The beginning of the rail for the grand staircase is actually a whale rib

The Bequia Easter Regatta 2013 is well under way, with registration opening today and over 50 yachts expected. to take part across the Crusing, J24 or Local boat classes.
The local boats, known as Double enders, are coming out of hiding across the island; being uncovered, the rigging prepared, the sail attached, new booms carved out of wooden branches and generally put back together for this 'one weekend in the year' sailing!
All across the island these double enders are arriving .... on the bay front under the Almond Tree; along the beach front in Hamilton; along the shores of Friendship Bay and even half way up Mount Pleasant. Everyone is preparing for the highlight of the islands year!
Check out the yachts in the new gallery on the website and watch out for more posts over the weekend as the racing gets underway on Friday morning.
Foradil Aerolizer is one of the medicines Direct Relief provided to the Central Medical Stores in St. Vincent.
Direct Relief has provided medicines and medical supplies to St. Vincent and the Grenadines , focusing on basic medical supplies and respiratory health.
Direct Relief's partner in-country is the Asthma Clinic of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, which operates in a wing of the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital in the capital city of Kingston. The Asthma Clinic currently supports about 2,300 patients with approximately 200 new referrals each year. Although the number of asthma cases in has risen fourfold in the past decade, the government is only able to provide only half of the funding for the supplies needed.
With a generous donation from Schering-Plough, Direct Relief has been able to help those with respiratory conditions by providing necessary medications like the Foradil Aerolizer (for long-term asthma patients to use twice daily), Proventil inhalers (for prevention and treatment of wheezing and increasing air flow to the lungs), Nasonex (for treating allergy symptoms), and Asmanex Twisthalers (for treating asthma in children).

Unfortunately during our venture out at sea snorkeling, I did not bring my camera. I was afraid it would be soaked in sea water. It was a false fear as everything stayed dry. The viewers lose as it was spectacular, particularly the Tobago Cays. So, this photo is of our wandering around Union Island.

Shell, a natural in front of the camera was happy to pose in +30 Celsius (86 degrees fahrenheit) degree weather for the small price of an ice cold Coke and some conversation.

Sunset in Calliaqua, Saint Vincent, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, West Indies. The left island is Fort Duvernette, which is accessible by boat and offers beautiful views of Saint Vincent and Bequia.
Another time lapse sequence from here on Bequia.
Bequia is known as 'Island of Clouds' so this seemed very pertinent.
Its been very windy recently so when the clouds started rolling in, I headed up to one of the best viewpoints on the island shot nearly 1200 shots over a couple of hours.
I have been editing these using LRTimelapse which is an excellent piece of software for time lapse sequences, allowing you to edit key frames in Lightroom and then apply smooth transitions to all the changes, resulting in a much smoother sequence.
One issue with shooting so many images is that if you look closely, a dust spot arrives near the end of the sequence, right in the middle of the screen. Very frustrating! I tried to edit this out in Lightroom, but the Sync facility didn't hide it well. More to learn.
I have not mastered it yet, and Im struggling with Video Codecs to get the best from the old software I am using, but I hope you enjoy it.
Comments and feedback welcome.
