Stuttgart, the Württemberg mausoleum (Grabkapelle) stands on a hill over looking the city and is the burial site of some members of the Württemberg royals.
Based on Palladio's La Rotunda it is one of the most beautiful buildings I have ever visited in Germany.
You can see it in part of this video about Stuttgart youtu.be/v3shNt2iELg

This is the inside of the Stuttgart City Library in Germany, also know as the 'Stadtbibliothek Stuttgart'.
While doing some research for our trip to Esslingen to see some of Sarah's family, I came across this stunning library in nearby Stuttgart. From the outside it doesn't look like much, really just a cube, but go inside and it opens up to this stunning multi-level atrium. Aside from the benches and the books, nearly everything is white. Clean, organized, and quiet. I shot a roll+ of film easy, with every 'clomp' of my Hasselblads shutter turning a head or two. I could have spent all day here and I didn't even pick up a book.
In this frame you can also see my parter Sarah and her Mom, Pat.....second level from the top on the right. Now retired, Pat was a teacher and then librarian for years. Her archives were housed in much smaller libraries in a small town in central MN but she has a deep love for books regardless of where they live, especially children's books. The two of them found German copies of some of her favorites while I wandered the perimeter making photographs.
