Kit's cold hard selling technique. {Kit (stuttering): Yeah, so, Jillian, I really liked SKIM, yeah. You know, I was a goth in high school. Well, not a goth, but a punk. Well, not really a punk per se, more like I wore black all the time and liked the Monkeys. To reflect my mood, y'know. I was depressed. Right, I know. Who would think that now. Look at me, all chipper all the time. Right? Yeah...So...You want to buy a copy of GEORGE SPROTT or what?}

To calculate the path of each bundle of fibers in the brain, scientists first create a three-dimensional picture of the direction of water diffusion for each voxel, or three-dimensional pixel, in the brain scan. The peanut-shaped blobs in this image of Wedeen’s own brain stem represent the speed of diffusion in every possible direction. Given that shape, scientists infer the most likely path of the nerve fibers passing through that spot, following the principle that water diffusion is parallel to fibers.

Your locked-up wheel produces no power, never lets loose from the banks where it's broken. The forest is slowly shifting again, sharp and stuttered, harsh transitions through thaws and freeze-overs. I'm running from the sun like I've been chased, to the brilliant, beautiful shadows that seem better for the cold casting. The part I play out here is insignificant, too small to be even considered an extra. I'm more like set dressing, one cloud passing that you only notice for the seconds it blocks the sun. Being invisible in nature always somehow makes me feel like belonging everywhere else. Finding places like these, the one human dot in a landscape of inhuman space. Lonely lives laced with intrusions on time, waiting for reclamation. I'll still be strong and steady when they fade for good.
