Forrest smiled from ear to ear as he helped Wander back into a sitting position. Shire caught his eyes briefly and saw nothing but happiness there. She was relieved that he was not aware of Wander's true condition yet. He may have panicked, and that would have done no good.
Shire busied herself in her medical bag of herbs and potions, pulling out vitamins and healthy things for Wander to take, but her mind was racing. Wander seemed to be fading away, like a shadow as the sun comes out, and she could not tell why.
Threw out believable yesterday.

I think McColl's new service 20 could be described as having stuttered in to existence rather than having started on the 22nd. The lack of the destination on this bus was not due to the camera, at this point in time it wasn't displaying one. After this it was another 25 minutes before another bus reached the Shopping Centre, by which point in time I was back at the car park, so nothing captured and another bus was shortly after. No more time for pictures though so it was a short stop at Drumchapel Station before off to do some real work.

The maze background is stuttered. That is, it's a mix of two puzzles with the same picture, which were printed off-register. The pieces are alternated creating a jitter effect. I like the way the angler mimics Lake Michigan on the US map.

Saturday 21 September, 1946Newcastle United 1-2 Burnley Seventy years ago today, after a stuttering start to the new season, the first Football League campaign after the end of the Second World War, six games in the Clarets’ promotion push was at last up and running.Two goals from Harry Potts secured a well-deserved victory at St James Park in front of a crowd of more than 61,000, most of them fanatical Geordies. Centre forward Ray Harrison and winger Jack Hays both made their Clarets’ league debuts, with Potts scoring the first two league goals of his career.He was 25 years old, with a significant part of his football career having been on hold whilst he served his country during hostilities.Unbeaten Newcastle began as though they would sweep their Lancashire visitors away, but the Clarets’ defence stood firm with skipper Alan Brown a rock at the heart of the defence.On 21 minutes, against the run of play, the Clarets went ahead when Potts latched onto a long through ball from Hays, drew the keeper and scored with a powerful left foot shot.Nine minutes later the lead was doubled after a Hays corner from the left. I'm stuttering my way through this at the moment, after getting it as a birthday present (thanks candace).
Combined with events, it's prompting me to have a good think about my photography. I've taken plenty of pictures in the last six months, but far too many of them are of random street furniture and not of people and events. It comes down to a larger question of what photography is for.
Is it for recording your life and that of those around you, or playing to an audience of peers who also like graffiti and tall buildings? Is posting to Flickr an attempt to get popularity, or to give people a glimpse into the narrative of your life? If it's a balance of the two, where do you strike it?
Certainly I think I have been guilty of taking too many photos "for Flickr" and not enough for the future me. At the moment I'm leaning towards feeling that a bad photo that captures a moment is more important than a good photo of something that someone else will find interesting (or, worse, an excellent photo of something dull). Maybe everyone else has done this all along, but I skew easily.
Sorry if this is all a bit long and rambling for you, but I did want to externalise everything and it felt more relevant here than in some of the other places I could have posted.

The Stuttering Frog (Mixophyes balbus), Washpool NP, NSW. A threatened species which inhabits streams in rainforest. Having disappeared almost entriely from the southern half of its range (where it is now recognised as a distinct species, M. australis) this species still remains common in parts of northern NSW.

Shutter stutter
Letchworth State Park, I think, with the camera sitting on a polished surface. This was my first roll of film with this camera since 2016. It was feeling neglected. I managed one shot before the shutter decided it had sat unused for too long. Thankfully, it gradually worked itself free. Frames following this one were fine.

While NYC Bike Share Program stutters to a start, we have been getting people on their own perfect commuter bikes at an affordable price since 2012! Times Up! introduces low cost Dutch-style bikes to its Brooklyn space. We have purchased 450 used bikes that we are recycling and getting on the streets fast. This program has been remarkably successful as we are starting to see more and more Dutch bikes all over NYC.
Two of the classes I had in Emerson Hall were among the best and the worst of my college career. The worst was a numbing introduction to sociology. The best was a course on Yeats and Joyce, taught by John Kelleher. He stuttered -- except when he read from their work. His poignant reading of Joyce's "The Dead" remains with me even now.
