Sitting in a classic war-time Jeep and smoking a thick cigar, this guy looked the epitome of a WWII American senior officer.

I'm attempting to grow facial hair for only the second time in my life. The last time I let it grow for over a week was in 1998. As you can see it only grows in selected places and at that it's not very dense. Though it has slowly gotten denser over the years, so I thought I'd give it a shot. This image is after four days of not shaving and I'm now going on a week.
I think the key for this to work is for the hair on my chin to be dense and dark enough. Otherwise I will continue to look like some teenage kid try look like an adult. And that's a bit of the difficulty of having lighter colored hair. Like my eyebrows, facial hair can semi-disappear under certain lighting since it blends in with the skin around. So it will need to be bold in order to really make it's presense. Or else I'll look like I have a dirty lip.
