Architecture 150

Project with Tina Dinh

A structure that spanned 3 feet and was designed to hold 250 lbs at its center from a height of 18 inches. Testing on a physical model showed a structural failure in the tension hold-downs, as predicted, at a weight of 265 lbs.

This project was for my AS Textiles where we had to design and make a structural garment that was inspired by a piece of architecture. I chose Moroccan arches as I love how different they all are. You can see some of my photographs that used to create some quick sketches in pencil. I then went onto create a few designs, then a final design. From which I made my dress.
