such a cliched photo of Stromness - but there's a reason - it's gorgeous. ! Quick iphone shot after discovering that we wouldn't be walking to Ness Point this way - road works that cut off the whole road.

Leaving Stromness on Orkney Mainland

Stromness Bay and Whaling Station, South Georgia

An extremely famous place, not only from the James Bond film but also with a very long and exciting history. Unfortunately, the hotel has been closed for some time and has become a magical place for Influencers and their followers. The goal here was completely different, it should have been a photo with a red sunset, but planning sometimes doesn't work out, even with the latest tools. But I like the mystical atmosphere much better, especially the place was deserted.

The sun really did shine every day (except Thursday...)

I took this shot a minutes before the strom formation in the previous image .

Stromness Bay and Whaling Station, South Georgia

Arriving at Orkney mainland and this is the view that greets you at Stromness. Such a delightful town. There were even Dolphins in the harbour! Each old building along the water's edge has its own little jetty, built of stone, and made to last.

An old gas station converted into a charging station.

it isn't B/W only a raining grey day

The port of Stromness on the island of Mainland lies on Scapa Flow. Behind Stromness, the massive bulk of Ward Hill rises to 481 m (on the left) on the neighbouring island of Hoy -- meaning the high one, as the Vikings named the island. From a slide.

The "Hamnavoe" making her way towards Stromness, Orkney enroute from Scrabster.

A lot windier that the pic suggests, take a look at the bend on the aerials, the spray in the air and the Heel due to the 40-50knot wind.

The sheltered route through Scapa Flow today, a fair sea running on the west side of Hoy.
