I have two USB cables that are always cluttering up my desk and need to be switched out: the iPod cable and the camera cable. They drive me crazy, and I finally came up with a solution.
I simply attached a hook on the side of my desk to hang the cables on. Since the devices can be right near the computer I took up the slack on the cords and tied them up. The hook is large enough that the cables slip on and off easily, they are neat and tidy, and they are always within arms reach.
It's just a little thing, but my quality of life has improved dramatically :)
Have been sniffing around in the archives & found this picture. I took a number of pics 'hand held' while travelling as passenger along the M4 past Newport. The image is of a temporary speed limit that is part of the 'managed motorway' system in that area. The shot is virtually SOOC and has only been (tightly) cropped.
Austin's is on The Diamond, Derry/Londonderry.
Established in 1830, Austins predates Jenners of Edinburgh by 5 years, Harrods of London by 15 years and Macys of New York by 25 years! Austins is the world's oldest independent department store, having grown remarkably from its humble beginnings almost two centuries ago.
Today, it stands proudly overlooking the historic centre of the city, with commanding views of the entire district, Donegal and beyond. To mark its unique anniversary, this striking building has had a wonderful facelift with the entire stonework cleaned and painted, the magnificent second floor balconies completely restored and the imposing corner turret returned to its former glory. The grand facade however is in stark contrast to the thoroughly modern interior with four floors featuring the best in deparment store retailing. From Fashions to Perfumes, from Homewares to Crystal, Austins is a refreshing change on the city's high street. Offering that something extra, that personal touch, and exceptional standards of service, Austins is more than a Store - it's a shopping tradition.

Stepping out: Stroke volunteers mark the course with balloons at a Step Out for Stroke event in Pontypridd.
Treatments of chronic migraines including the use of Botox® , and other medications were part the discussion during the lecture today at the Atlantis Casino in Reno, featuring Dr. John Rothrock, local neurologist with Renown Institute for Neurosciences. May 15, 2013 at the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa.
When I began the project documenting my father's battle with his stroke, clearly I had no idea where fate and circumstance might lead us. In my opening public comments I essentially concluded my introduction of the documentary with "...and for what I ultimately truly hope will be an uplifting journey to recovery." Even when I wrote those words, I wasn't fully aware, having survived the initial dramatic stroke, how the odds were stacked against him.
Happily, for those who followed the unfolding story, you'll know that my father was lucky to fall into the third of people having such an event who subsequently go on to make a good recovery.
He still has some battles ahead, with both physical and psychological issues - and a prevailing easy fatigue. But last week he began doing a few short driving trips, and this week hopes to return to see his beloved [or traumatising - depending on your viewpoint!] Bristol City Football Club.
So, that minor update aside, I thought that it might be a nice idea - particularly for those who followed this closely/with interest - if anyone had any questions they might like to put directly to my father about his experiences.
Please feel free to add them here in the Comments below. Or, if for any reason you would rather ask a question anonymously, message me, then I'll add the question on your behalf. [So others can see what has been already asked.]
Once again, thanks again for all your support through this difficult period in my/our family's life. I had mixed feelings about making this public, but I've been genuinely overwhelmed by those who've taken time to write and offer their thoughts and prayers, etc.

Finally: Two of the images from this series have been accepted as a small set [with supporting text] for the RGB Awards 2012. And will be featured in the accompanying flagship exhibition for this year's Bristol Festival of Photography. [More on which later in the week. : )]
And the local university has asked to potentially use this series for their Adult Pre-registration Stroke Day for the Leadership for Health Module and the CPD course they have about Life After Stroke.
