My beloved Orthey Autoharp. I am fascinated with how the lensbaby captures the strings.

Daily Shoot: Illustrate the act or emotion of tension in a photograph today.
There are days when I feel like an overstreched guitar string, about to break.
For Sequel - this is where my icon came from. There used to be a REALLY UBER awesome web-comic called Strings of Fate. It had to do with Chinese Zodiac and reincarnation and betrayal and love and personal growth and Gods and.... things. You know? Oh, and also lots of really good-looking people.
The art was unique and exquisite, page layouts were awesome. Unfortunately, she author grew apart from her story and ended it midarc. On a cliff-hanger, I might add.
Anyway, there was this one character there, called Mao (which means "cat", I b'live). This was a sketch sheet for her, and that one pose where the kitty is chewins on the peach I was like.... that's me. Right down to the one squinty eye and one wide-open. Also, my cat looks like that when she attacks things.
So, hope now we cleared the matter - in real life I actually look like a deranged, white-with-green-symbols cat. With a peach.

Shot during a Blind Night Shoot with the Triad Photography Meet-up Club. This is a picture taken in an alley of Elm Street in downtown Greensboro, NC. This is the first time I've shot at night. I was excited to figure out the settings for this shot!

Old-er WIP that I decided to remake into a small car quilt. Originally these were random width batik strips sewed in no particular order. I cut them into 5" strips; then into 5" squares; topped them with an oatmeal 5" square; and eventually they became these chevrons. I think the solid is Kona, but I don't know for sure.
The 34th @dailyshoot assignment was about lines. This one's an attempt to contrast the orthogonal strings and frets of a guitar neck with a very nonlinear background.
I took this at Downtown Disney using available light and my D80's kit lens of 18-135mm. Post was Noiseware and Photoshop. I did another version of David a while back but went back to the originals and I ended up liking this one better.
David was in front of La Brea Bakery playing his normal gig and I just happened by kinda of late in the evening. I leaned against a palm tree and let it rip.
I stopped at Covent Garden at lunch and wandered across a strings and flute group busking. An absolute joy! They really lifted my spirits on a damp grey day.
