Week 43
The road trip to the party. I started this week off in Atlanta shooting a commercial for work. This was another one of those jobs that had us working on a beautiful golf course all day. There is something so amazing about these golf courses that I get to see. The scenery is so perfect that sometimes you almost can't believe your eyes. The job went well as usual and as soon as we wrapped we were back on the road heading home. We made it back on Wednesday night, just in time to help set up the office party for Friday. This was my first time going to one of these office parties due to me finally being of age. It was pretty amazing and I had a wonderful time though it is weird to watch a bunch of co-workers and people you have known your whole life to go completely crazy. On Saturday, the day after the party, I headed out with Eric, bought a new film camera, and shot some sunset scenes with him. Scott joined us later in the night and we ended up buying some pixie lights and tried to mimic the famous Instagram look that everyone likes to do. I think they turned out pretty cool!
I can't wait to see what this next week will bring!
I found this charming outdoor seating area while exploring the Best Western The Red Lion Hotel in Salisbury. The tables and chairs are nestled beneath a canopy of trees, creating a cool and inviting space to relax and enjoy a drink or a meal. I love the way the string lights add a touch of ambiance, making it perfect for an evening gathering.

Ripped those awful red LED's off my light wheel and added some warm white ones. The result, a more camera friendly spirograph without the light flooding the red caused.

last night, i had a little photoshoot with myself. i rarely, rarely do that because i'm not that good at taking pictures of myself. i really prefer to be the one behind the lens, but i needed to do this for myself.
i needed a reminder that this project is for me... it shouldn't be about how many people view my pictures or the number of comments i get. this is something for me. i did this to learn more about my photography, my friends, my family, and myself.
so when i was shooting this last night, i closed my bedroom door and blasted music. i think i was listening to "alright with me" by kris allen when i took this one. i don't care if it's not my usual thing, or that it's not "serious". but that's the whole point. i need to have fun while i'm doing this project too! if i don't, then the whole year will have been wasted.
anyways. i'm done ranting. there's a few more i like in comments, and all of these are sooc.

i just picked up the magic mouse for my macbook pro today. it fits really snugly in my hand. the trackpad on the macbook pro is pretty sweet but for editing photos i really do prefer using a mouse. i am still getting used to using the multi-touch navigation but i am amazed at how well it works so far.
and yeah i know i have been going nuts putting up bokeh shots lately but it's so pretty i can't help it.

BACKSTORY: Got up around 7:15AM, made it out driving by 7:54AM and went out until 12:45PM for a total of 4.5 hours (stopped to eat and grocery shop). Spent $55.75 plus ~$4.42 gas for 53.5 miles of driving (30.6 mpg @ $2.53/G), for a total cost of $60.17. We drove to 19 yard sales, stopping at 18 (95%) of them. We made 56 purchases (81 items) for a total estimated value of $366.68, leading to a profit/savings of $310.93.So in essence, we multiplied our $55.75 investment by 6.58. (Also, if you think about it, the profit counts for even more when you consider that we have to earn $354.42 on the job, pre-tax, in order to take home the $310.93 in cash that we saved. How long does $310.93 of disposable income take to earn, vs the 4.5 hrs we spent here?) Anyway, this works out to a *post-tax* "wage" of $62.19/hr as a couple or $31.09/hr per person.
