A few weeks ago, just after the snow melted, a small stream near Picnic Rocks in Marquette, MI had created large sandy walls on either side of the stream. The weather was quite chilly yet, so not many people had been down to walk through the area. Footprints for the first time were a rarity. To top it all off, I was presented a fantastic sunset to work with. I hope you enjoy these two very different photographs of the same area on the same night.

To prevent livestock straying from the field and into the land on the other side of the railway line an old gate has been placed across the stream. Twigs, small branches and leaves build up and form a dam restricting the flow of water. One of the tasks was to clear the debris.
