A small stream running along the back side of Itsukushima jinja.

Miyajima is a sacred island a few minutes from the mainland which can be accessed by ferry. It is a short distance from Hiroshima and Iwakuni and makes for an excellent day trip. The highlight of the islands, besides the roaming deer and monkeys, is Itsukushima jinja. The large torii there is one of Japan's three greatest views--I totally agree with this although I have never been to Amanohashidate. It also includes other temples, shrines, nature, and of course shopping. Highly recommended.

If you walk through the Dunmow Cutting towards Dunmow you'll come across a raised walkway area which takes you over this small, apparently very clean, stream.

Hiking the Valley of the Waters

A tiny stream flows from the cliffs, southwest of Independence Mine at a higher elevation. The terrain becomes alpine tundra and scattered, lichen-covered boulders litter the landscape. This little stream runs clear and cold across a cushiony green carpet of moss, breaking up this otherwise harsh mountainside with a touch of softness and warm glow. It made a delightful bed upon which to lay and listen to the sounds of flowing water, ptarmigan, pikas and squirrels foraging amongst the stones. It was warmer as long as the sun was shining and the wind stayed calm, but the weather can change quickly and a warm, early fall day in the upper elevations of Hatcher Pass can turn freezing in an instant. The sun dips behind a cloud or mountain, wind picks up and an ill-prepared hiker will find their way quickly back down the mountains.

Took a 27 mile ride from Armuchee to the Pocket. It was a beautiful day for a ride! These are from my iPhone.

Ok, he didn't really go in, but Elsa from Frozen was in the building right behind him.

This is a very effective, impressive exhibit; the suspended water bottles representing the surface of the fast-running stream move convincingly in the wind as the "swimming" fish swing realistically back and forth. There's a gentle sound that could be interpreted as a rushing stream.

"Student designers are helping inspire recycling in Grand Teton National Park. This visionary program is led by Jackson Hole Public Art, in partnership with the park and Teton County School District, with support from Subaru’s Zero Landfill Initiative

STREAM visualizes the 2016 recycling rate in Grand Teton National Park. Outside, a sculptural river flows overhead depicting the recyclable plastic and aluminum sent to the landfill. Inside, a smaller portion of material depicts the amount of plastic and aluminum collected for recycling.

23% of plastic and aluminum from Grand Teton are recycled \ 77% of plastic and aluminum from Grand Teton are put into the trash and go to landfill."

Pond with Waterfall and Stream

Mountain stream at Desoto Falls. Lumpkin County, Georgia. January 2011.

This stream in Priory Park was designed to attract wildlife. Marsh-marigold/Caltha palustris and other wild flowers are planted along its length. The stream flows into Prittle Brook near the north perimeter of the park.

Experimenting with Orton processing. Here's another version of the stream. As always, comments are most welcome.
