A fisherman was trying his luck in a mountain stream in western North Carolina near the town of Andrews. See this, and more, on my website at www.tom-claud.pixels.com.
Came across this beauty on my hike to shot a waterfall. This is a seasonal stream, later on in the year it is dry .But for now it's flowing from the snow melt .

Madonna del Feles, in un freddo pomeriggio piovoso - notare infatti la neve quasi del tutto sciolta - le foglie bagnate, reduci dal freddo inverno, hanno assunto tonalità più vive: l'acqua, bagnandole, ha incrementato il loro colore e le ha rese più lucide. Un'occasione preziosa, da non sprecare... infatti, le grandi foglie di castagno, asciutte, sono di un marroncino aranciato che non è proprio uno splendore.
Madonna del Feles, on a cold rainy afternoon - in fact note the snow almost completely melted - the wet leaves, survived the cold winter, have taken on more vivid shades: the water, wetting them, has increased their color and has made them more shiny. A precious opportunity, not to be wasted... in fact, the large chestnut leaves, dry, are of an orangeish brown that isn't really a splendor.

Bubbles, bubbles, they do stream
Tiny bubbles, filled with dreams
Flowing fast, flowing slow
Past the trees, watch them go
Under skies stretching high
Bubbles leap, bubbles fly

this running stream was a nice little find while venturing around snowdonia in wales. the flow of water an opportunity to lenthen exposure a liitle to create a little blur with the help of my ND filter.
i really wanted the nearby rocks to be an integral part of the image due to there various colours.
hopefully when veiwing the feel of nature breaks through. comments welcome.
These two photos I took while on my lunch break at a campground where I was clearing the leaves away for the campers this season. The rocks in this creek were all soft, round and blue. Beautiful place. Great smoky mountain national park, NC, USA

I finished this top right before the quilt guild meeting, and ran outside to take a picture during sunset, so it's not the greatest picture.
I'll probably write a blog post when this is totally done explaining the process (which involved drafting and printing a very large paper-pieced pattern and a whole heck of a lot of cursing).
The idea behind it was based on the Madrona Road fabric line being about telling a story. When we tell stories, the listeners picture things in their heads based on the words, and I wanted to capture that in a quilt. The idea is that the words from the background are describing and bringing the other prints into being.
The old hydro plant sits well above the stream in Minnewaska State Park. The plant was fed by water diverted into a pipe that still sits on stilts on the hillside.

I absolutely love working with models that work hard to achieve the vision that you have in mind. Not a lot of models are willing to try something new and crazy but Joan was all for it and trusted me with it! This is different from my usual on location shots, I have worked in a studio before but this is probably the first time I played with studio lights as the main light on the subject so it was a very nice experience.
For the mood of the photo I wanted it to have like an underwater feel to it and at the same time achieve the surrealism of the scene.
