Messing around with a shutter lock cable on my Chinon CG-5. Exposure is about 40 seconds and the road is just a dual carriageway near where I live.

These are seismic streamers - they are towed a little below the surface of the ocean and contain miniature seismometers every few meters. With some processing techniques we lay these signals next to each other and see a picture of the geologic structure underneath the sea floor.
It's really more boring than it sounds.
