I'd finished up taking a few shots at Courthouse Falls last May and decided to try to capture a few close ups of the rushing water...

A Trickling stream thaws the silent dawn

while bright eyes wink awake from the water

watching for a twinkling little robin,

red as the ripened berries at Christmas.

Clearing out the archives, taken at Mill wood, Penrice, Gower, Wales, UK.

No graphics please.

Little sign of spring coming here yet by the sparkling waters of the River Teign near Chagford in Dartmoor National Park.

The stream of clouds reflected in the stream of water in the foreground.

Beautiful peaceful calm Left Hand Creek with colorful fall foliage in Left Hand Canyon photographed with a long exposure.

Cool Contrast, with the Bright Green Bush and the Low-light Stream.

This is a close-up photo of sunlight refracting through ripple patterns in a stream on Port Maitland Beach.

A moment of fantastic light mixed with a little fog in the Pisgah National Forest. I was taking photos of a picturesque cascade on this stream when I looked behind me and saw this scene unfolding. I quickly turned around to capture this light before it moved on. It was such a simple scene that the light transformed into something more. It always pays to look behind you especially when you have great light behind you.

Fresh snow and blue sky are a great combination.

We hiked past this lovely scene on the way to Svartifoss (Icelandic for "Black Falls") in Skaftafell National Park, Iceland. The perspective above the stream was made possible by a small bridge.

This day brought a lot of rain and a heavy fog. These ruined many of my photos, but I think it really added something to this one.

(I put this image in my "Waterfalls" set...it's really more of a rapids, but I like it too much to leave it out!). To see the view on the other direction click here.

i really wanted the nearby rocks to be an integral part of the image due to there various colours.

Stream Orchid (Epipactis gigantea) photogtaphed in Morongo Canyon Preserve on our way to Joshua Tree National Park. Morongo is known as one of the best birding sites in the western US. We saw or heard over 70 species there on a 'Birdathon' last week.

This is a photo of the reflections of trees in a stream.

The stream in front of our house after a good rain.

Many people have that safe place that when you arrive nothing can go wrong. For me that is the forest and I pretty much made my second home in the forest this year. If I found a little stream or creek in that forest and it becomes heaven. I just enjoy the sights and sounds and when I know it is time to leave I am very disappointed. Almost as soon as I leave, I start daydreaming about my next trip.

So after saying all that I'm sure you can understand what I was feeling when I was taking this shot deep in Tuller Hill State Forest which is just a drive up the hill from my house. I loved the surrounding greenery here and it was fun just relaxing as the timer of my camera was ticked away for some long exposure shots of this little stream waterfall. This is actually a three exposure HDR. The exposures were of 5, 12, and 60 seconds. I also had three ND filters on here at ND2, ND4, and ND8. I really liked the results of this one in the end because I feel like I'm back in the forest sitting near this stream when I view this. :^)

I hope everyone enjoys this image! :^)
