A small sidestream feeding into the Yatesville Creek, just downstream from Yatesville Falls.

Yatesville Falls is located in the Yatesville Falls State Forest in the town of Root, Montgomery County, New York. The Yatesville Falls State Forest consists of 714 acres of land that was purchased by the state in the 1930s for timber production, recreational use, watershed production and wildlife habitat.

A very small stream next to the low water lair. During the late summer and fall when we usually hang out here there are just a few pools. After the last week of rain and rapidly melting snow we had a very nice streamlet to listen to as we relaxed (well I relaxed, the doggies mostly explored the surrounding forest).

Glendalough, Gleann Dá Loch, “Valley of the Two Lakes," is a fascinating Early Medieval monastic settlement in a spectacular natural glacial valley south of Dublin. The monastery was founded in the 6th century by St. Kevin, a hermit monk. The extensive ruins of Glendalough include several early churches, a round tower and walking paths ranging from a short stroll around the ruins to demanding mountain hikes.

Mexican free-tailed bats stream from a Tucson bridge at dusk. These insectivorous bats are very important to the control of insect pest populations, but their numbers are on the decline due to pesticide contamination and destruction of roosting habitat. They are found in Tucson during the warmer months and migrate to Mexico in the winter.

Today was an absolutely gorgeous autumn day so we went for a walk and stumbled across this beautiful little stream.
