Best viewed LARGE on black.
I took this photo last year and didn't get quite the effect I was after. So, this year, despite a long day transporting equipment up the stream, followed by a four hour dive in the cave, I couldn't resist nipping back with the tripod and trying to beat last year's effort (though I only had five minutes to play with and Os had the engine running when I got back!)
This streamway up to Trou Madame is usually dry (you can walk up the river bed), but after heavy rain it turns into this.
Also my first experiment with the Singh Ray Vari-N-Duo filter (this was on about the 6 stop setting). Slightly miffed that I forgot to zero-out the camera from the last time I used it so this ended up being shot at ISO 800, but the file still looks clean enough to me.

A bit of an early Waterfall Wednesday post (though it's not a waterfall shot, specifically). I took this on the hike back from Ramona Falls, on the longer scenic loop. Something intrigues me about this photo, but I can't put my finger on it. Critiques would be much appreciated, specifically if you think this shot is dull and boring!

This Sunrise met us on our last day in the park. Right after this Brennan had a nice meeting with the park ranger discussing the parks thermal features!
A small stream through Kvačianska dolina (Kvacany valley) in Northern Slovakia. I spent an entire day hiking this valley and its neighboring Prosiecka dolina on my way back. (Canon Rebel Ti, Canon EF 28-90mm II, Fuji Velvia 100, tripod)
So, anytime I go out of town I have to check thrift stores in the area. Thankfully having my iPhone makes things SO much easier than going through the hotel phone book for addresses like I used to do. Anyway, we went to 5 thrift stores in the Newport News/Williamsburg areas. I found a Barbie binder and a Hunchback of Notre Dame card. Tonight I went to my local thrift store here and found all the toys in the back. I do still really want to move but leaving this thrift store may be impossible.
