Comparison of impact-induced, model-estimated, maximum principal (left image) and white matter fiber (right image) strain along a randomly selected (~5%) fiber tracts overlaid on a transparent brain mesh outer boundary for a football athlete clinically diagnosed with concussion. The “hot spots” given by the two strain measures based on an optimal injury threshold according to an in vivo animal study differ significantly in both distribution and extent.

So, its been exactly a month i believe since my last upload. I was itching to shoot so thats what I did today. This is actually a big big big mistake but I was drawn to it more than any of the pictures that were part of the theme i had for the day.
Ive had a lot going on in my life but on the bright side I have under a month before a vacation to key west. Very excited about that. Hopefully I'll be able to work more shooting time into my schedule but until then hope all is well flickr!
Distinguishing features; The sum of the S wave in V2 and R wave in V5 is greater than 35mv. In V5 and V6 there is downsloping ST depression indicative of ‘strain’ on the LV.
Orange scroll - Deb Strain Fresh Flowers. FINALLY got the backing for my Single Girl Quilt. I am making this quilt to raffle for a friend of mine with an autistic son. Another friend helped sponsor and paid for the fabric!
This was the end of a race during the athletics meeting on 7.6.15 in Birmingham. The 800m final was won by Nijel Amos (BOT) in 1:46.77 ahead of Adam Kszczot (POL) in 1:47.03 and Marcin Lewandowski (POL).

…nothing new for us sfs cats. Found a look out slash hill overlooking the city, ya it’s late and my English ain’t so good sorry- wanted to time it for the sunset but we were way early, played around with killing the ambient down to nothing, I was pretty surprised that I could at only 1/250th (canon blah).
Put another flash in the umbrella bracket and both on full power made itself be known haha. Ammi was so patient as I fumbled with the ratio’s, even through my stoke at the control I have over the world’s source I still called out fake, it just looked way agro with the ambient being so low and made me sick…just sat around and talked about nothing for an hour until we could get around to doing something.

Shimin Liu and colleagues Xu Zhao and Zijun Feng (left to right) from Pennsylvania State University conducted an experiment at VULCAN, SNS beam line 7, in February 2015 to quantitatively measure the internal strain for the shale matrix during gas depletion. The team stressed a core sample to in situ stress conditions. They mapped the strain/stress state of the shale core in the cell along the radial direction at different cross sections.

there are several ways to make kava in Vanuatu. Men in Pentecost often use a sharpened stone to hand grind the kava, as opposed to mincing it with a meat grinder. The stone ground method is much more labor intensive and requires more time to make. I found it to be the best tasting and pleasing effect I've ever felt from kava. /// Lekavatmel, Central Petecost
well a dude from the bush came down and drank kava with us. he had a camera phone and we took a photo together.
Received my radio trigger today finally. Snapped this quickly before putting him to bed. I think my £30 flash, £15 trigger and £5 mini soft box is going to improve things, as soon as I work out how to use 'em properly.

Being used to stop a farm gate post from leaning over any further. Probably a stop gap before having to replace the post.
I imaged David at the 2011 Summerfest in New Bedford, Massachusetts, USA, on July 02, at the Pickin' and Singin' session on the Center St. Stage. I used my manual focus Tamron Adaptall-2 model 104A CF 75-250mm f3.8-4.5 lens with attached Tamron Adaptall-2 Pentax K A mount on Pentax K20D camera, manually focused, hand held, imaged from end of tent, SR 250mm, ISO 400, f5.6, 1/10 sec, with available ambient light. This is a full resolution Large JPEG and is Straight Out Of Camera (SOOC) without any resizing, adjustment, or cropping.

At Missoula yard waiting to go west. Possible re-route off High Line due to Tioga wreck. I haven't been able to get out to see many trains recently. Here are a few quickies from near town.
Sloe gin:
Ingredients
· 1lb/454gm of washed sloes
· 4 ozs/112gm of white granulated sugar
· 75cl bottle of medium quality gin
· Sterilised 1 litre (at least) Le Parfait jar or wide necked bottle
· 1-2 drops of almond essence
Method
· Wash sloes well and discard any bruised or rotten fruit. Prick fruit with a fork and place sloes in either a large Kilner/Le Parfait jar or a wide necked 1 litre bottle. Put several sloes in palm to prick them rather than picking them up one by one.
· Using a funnel, add the sugar and top up with gin to the rim.
· Add the almond essence.
· Shake every day until the sugar is dissolved and then store in a cool, dark place until you can resist it no longer (leave for at least three months, we usually let it mature for a year).
· Some people strain the grog (through muslin/jelly bag) after 3 months and bottle it, leaving it mature for six months. Some strain and bottle after a year.
