Hark, now hear the sailors cry,
Smell the sea, and feel the sky,
Let your soul & spirit fly, into the mystic.

A very special place in the middle of nowhere...
This remote settlement, at the edge of the Namib-Naukluft National Park, Namibia, has been a welcome stopover for more than 60 years. A thirsty traveler will find cold drinks, ice cream, baked goods, coffee and lunch. You can fill up on petrol, have tyres repaired, and stretch your legs during the long drive from Sessriem to Swakopmund. There are also 2 popular lodges for overnight guests.
And imagine my surprise when, entering in the cafe/restaurant, I began hearing someone speaking in Portuguese!
Then, I discovered that the owner of the place was born in Angola, son of a portuguese couple (his Portuguese was perfect!), and he was talking with a young portuguese couple, from Porto, that was visiting the place too. This really was a great encounter :)))
Ahhh... the portuguese people... always trying to discover other worlds!
Got a quick view of this ruby crowned kinglet in the open before it moved on to another tree under better cover.

During a stopover on the way from Kunming to the Yuan Yang rice terraces, we visited the monumental mosque of Shadian.
The Grand Mosque of Shadian was originally built in the year of 1684. After several restorations and reconstructions, the new Grand Mosque of Shadian is built into a large-scaled mosque with a construction area of 18,000 square meters. It is able to hold a capacity of 10,000 people to do prayers at a time (source: www.muslim2china.com/china-mosques/Grand-Mosque-of-Shadia... ).

Penguin: Bak, are you sure I'll be able to go inside?
Me: Sure, your costume is impeccable.
Penguin: That's why I do not change it.
Sometimes you just have to pull over on a busy highway to take a shot despite what the other people in the car think about the idea. Taken with my specially imported 7Artisans 10mm. Also taken over the objections of my passenger. I really need some good comments on this one folks so i can show said passenger that the stop was really worth it.

Monarch Butterfly --- Monarchfalter
Monarch butterfly migration is a phenomenon occurring mainly across North America. The monarchs begin their southern migration from September to October. Eastern and northeastern populations, originating in southern Canada and the United States, travel to overwintering sites in central Mexico. They arrive at their roosting sites in November. They remain in their roosts during the winter months and then begin their northern migration in March. No individual butterfly completes the entire round trip. Female monarchs lay eggs for a subsequent generation during the northward migration. Four generations are involved in the annual cycle.
