Inside a traffic light control cabinet. Pretty cool tech in here!
The traffic department of Springfield Missouri actually does their own board level repairs on the modules in here, that's pretty cool in and of itself!
The tech working on this box was very helpful in answering my questions and letting me snap a pic of it!
Though they are everywhere, Parrotfish are not easy to shoot. 1st, because they are restless, and 2nd, because their green color is catched only in bright sunlight at 10 ft. And before you turn on the strobe...the fish is gone! But at night I finally got him. Sorry for disturbing you, mate!
Homeless people are often referred to as common criminals who negatively impact the lives of law-abiding citizens. But research demonstrates that circumstances such as poverty, lack of housing, limited employment opportunities and hunger, often lead individuals, living on the streets, to commit crimes. This suggests that the hardships of poverty and homelessness, not a predisposition to delinquent behaviors, precipitate criminal behavior on the street. A range of factors, including education level, physical and mental health, work readiness skills and nutrition impact a person’s ability to make money on the streets and affects the type of money making strategy they adopt. Some people, by virtue of their situations, are excluded from competing in the formal economy for jobs and turn to quasi-legal strategies (panhandling, squeegeeing and sex trade) or illegal activities (theft, drug dealing) to make money and survive.

in just half a day of wandering I've seen a number of very impressive stoplight entertainers. this guy is just standing there in a mask.
other observations:
* street food is so far a fail. it is so depressing to come to "the bottom of the world" and find hot dogs.
* jaywalking is not accepted. I've already been screamed at twice.
* the legs of chilean women are to be heard, not seen. no dresses or skirts anywhere.
Oh, we probably passed by this house six billion times when I was growing up in Hampton.
This house used to have a garden next to it but I guess the old people who lived here could not keep up with the garden anymore so they sold the land and houses are built on it now.
I hooked GitHub's stoplight up to their build system via Arduino, some relays, and an ethernet shield. Read about the process here:

Experimenting with my S1 IS tonight at the park with some pretty interesting results. (OK, the red eye reduction wasn't working from across the park)
