Took this picture as seeing stoplights like this a rarity. Had no idea that they would be getting replaced at the time.

This series of images uses a distant stoplight to create the background bokeh. Luckily the spider stayed in place long enough to get an image with the green, yellow, and red lights on. Thought it was a fun set :)

school has just started four days ago
and i'm already stressing out about it.
i've been working so hard. blah. and
i hate how A LOT of people expect something from me.
just because my gpa is more than a 4.0, it doesn't mean that i don't make any mistakes at all.
i'm imperfect too, you know ?
i'm so tired already.
Traffic light at the end of Sunset Blvd - Cape May, NJ - Minolta X-570 - LomoChrome Metropolis film - manipulated - increased saturation to get the look I wanted. Just didn't have time to change to a different film.
- www.kevin-palmer.com - My expectations and motivation were both low. Because of the slow solar wind speed, I didn’t think there would be much more than a boring green glow. Certainly it wouldn’t be as good as the show a couple weeks ago. But I couldn’t help taking a look anyway from a random road on the edge of town. This solar storm had a magnetic field pointing strongly southward for many hours, which helped it overachieve. Most of the time when I capture red auroras, the colors are subvisual. But this time the reds were very visible to the naked eye. The northern lights may appear any time of night, or even all night long in this case. But on average I find midnight-1AM to have the best views, so I always try to stay out until that time.
Just loving the ability to play with the 14MB of data in a 10MP RAW shot.
I took this as we left irish Times tonight, en route to Ferris Upstairs. Fun times with friends, good food and excellent beer celebrating a very hard week and good product delivered while pitching new customers on work for tomorrow.
Life is as it should be.
