Es evidente que la foto no la he tirado yo y ahora tampoco recuerdo quién me la hizo. Lo que si recuerdo con cariño es este ejercicio. Adrenalínico, es realmente complicado realizarlo decentemente y que quede plástico y espectacular, dada la velocidad que alcanza el halcón. Tan complicado como congelarlo nítido en una fotografía.
Creo que me la hizo mi compañero Gustavo, un abrazo para él.
We went to see the Barbarians vs. Army at the Twickenham Stoop. The match was played as a centenery celebration of army rugby.
It was an enjoyable game, very open - very, very clean (not one penalty kick).
There were several breaks, for both sides, involving a chase, and yet somehow no score resulted from most of these.
Barbarians did get through twice though. They won 14-0.
SoHo, Manhattan
This Federal style house, and its neighbor No. 83, have unusually fine doorways which were generally the most important architectural features of the houses of this period. Elegant and understated they typify the "architecture of good breeding." What is unusual about these two doorways is that, after 150 years, they are the earliest complete Federal doorways remaining in Manhattan, despite the fact that the panels of the door at No. 85 has been slightly altered.
Together, they illustrate another important element of Federal design: a careful attention to scale. No. 85 Sullivan Street is narrower than No. 83, and its doorway has been treated more simply.
A beautiful leaded transome above the door, is the outstanding feature of the doorway. The reveals and molding around the doorway are reeded and the upper corners are finished with small blocks, a typical Federal detail. The stone lintels over the doorway and some of the windows and windsills have been covered with sheetmetal, but the stone watertable exhibits the original fine tooling.
Other important Federal elements are the Flemish bond of the brickwork, the six- over -six pane windows and the wrou3ht iron railings a the low stoop and areaway, the railine. ornamented. only at the platform of the stoop, and the acorns topping the spindles of the areaway railing are typical designs. The roof was raised to three full stories in 1874 when a cornice supported on closely spaced modillions was added.

This is a great front step/stoop next to my sisters place. How awesome is the wood grain with the door color and knob? I didn't realize til after we got home and I looked at the pictures how good of a location it was! Luke, of course, loved the attention of everyone trying to get to him on the stoop.
