To view in stereo, sit 2-3 feet from the monitor and gently cross your eyes so that the two images become three. The one in the middle will be in 3d. If you are finding this difficult, you may be trying too hard. Viewing the original size is best.
Home sick home
We were travelling in Thailand and asked ourselves what we really wanted to do at Burning Man this year. John said, "I just want to sit on a front stoop and watch people go by. Drink some beer, play some music and hang out."
Somehow we randomly turned that into a reality with tons of recycled wood, old theater set pieces and lots of random sourced freebies. Add two trampolines and a sound system and we were set.
A defining architectural icon of Montreal are the precarious 'stoops' leading to an elevated doorway. Quite different from the broader versions of New York brownstone fame, the Montreal examples sort the locals from the visitors when icy winter comes...
really wanted a stoop, but they aren't guaranteed, though more common in the village. it's clean enough to be sittable when the weather's good! also, my windows and the building faces south! woo! my apartment may be minute (I'm guessing around 260 sf with lofted bed area above in super tall cieling), but it's lovely...

I made the 800km singe-way to the velodrome in Falun, the only one in Sweden. Teamed up with Komet Club Roleur and had a hell of a time!
Sidewalk is done and that ghastly fence -- which blew over onto the street in a windstorm -- is gone. Sidewalk shot coming up shortly.

Surviving Guide Stone on an UC road, in parish of BRADFIELD (SHEFFIELD District). Located on Mortimer Road; jct with Penistone Road, Strines, positioned 300 yds West of Bardyke on West side of road. Made of stone in a design referred to as a Bradfield stoop. Carved benchmark as lower arrow on Sheffield face. Erected by Bradfield Parish in the 18th century. Inscription reads; 1740 : arrow / PENISTON / R 5 M / BRADFIELD / arrow : HOPE / R 9 M / arrow : arrow / SHEFFIELD / R 9 M / BRADFIELD / R 2 M / arrow : Grade II Listed. NGR: SK 2451 9481: Milestone Society National ID: YS_XBRA02 (see turnpikes.org.uk) (primary survey by CM). There has been much speculation on the meaning of the letters R M on these Bradfield Stoops (e.g. Road Miles). I believe they are the initials of the Parish Surveyor who caused these stoops to be erected (other stoops carry the initials of Surveyors). The numerals are mileages but are Customary miles (ie a local measure) not Statute miles.
