Harlequins vs Sale Sharks
Round 18 of 2008/9 Guinness Premiership Rugby Union Match between Harlequins and Sale Sharks held at the Twickenham Stoop on Sunday 22nd March 2009
The story behind this one is that late in the game Sale ran out of front row qualified players and the game was forced to go to uncontested scrums - so as Sale had to bring on a replacement, Quins immediately brought on fresh legs in the shape of replacement flanker Neil McMillan - unfortunately his line-out lifting skills could do with some work...
this is from the fu manchu days... just wanted to play with some techniques... and i LOVE this shot...
these are classic baltimore row houses... our friend's stoop... the only thing more baltimore is if the stoop was marble...
mmmmmmmm.... form stone... fooooorm stooone....

In the stoop, they are natures fastest flyers and in a stoop have been clocked at 220mph, I can tell you its is amazing to see these birds climb up to 800 to 1000 ft, see the prey, in this case a released pigeon, the falcon folds his wings and dives vertically in some cases and may hit the prey a few feet off the ground,, I think I said, I watched nine birds hunting at the meet, 7 pigeons got away, two did not. The pigeons that were used were racing pigeons and returned home, which was 20 + miles away. These raacing pigeons can hold there own when it comes to manuvering and getting away from falcons, the 7 that got away did not get hit on the initial dive by the falcon, in each case the falcon tried to chase down the bird but the pigions out manuvered them, so in nature the falcon would have to go back up and wait for another chance at hitting its prey from the stoop. Because of their speed these birds are tough to photograph in the stoop.
