I went to an Estate Sale today and it didn't happen. For some unknown reason, they just didn't open their doors. It was so disappointing! Then I went to a garage sale where the woman was having a nervous breakdown because her husband was selling her things {I'm not kidding}. I was really about to give up when I forced myself to go across the street to the neighbor's sale, where I found this fabulous vintage industrial stool. It more than made up for the downer moments...

Restored industrial stool with hinged back. I believe it is from the late 40's early 50's. Any information concerning age would be appreciated.
Not just a stool, it was designed by Alvar Aalto for the University of Jyväskylä campus (which he also designed). On location blog 40100.blogspot.com/2006/05/jyvskyln-yliopiston-prakennuks... has reported that there's only one stool left in the campus - the rest of them have been stolen, over the years, one-by-one.
Somehow one of them has found its way to Berlin.
