Sometimes you get desperate to put something "in front" in a full moon picture!
This maximum security penitentiary opened in 1877 making it the longest operating federal Canadian prison.
I took this Milky Way panorama in a VERY remote place in northeren Arizona.
The drive to this place was exremely difficult and required a high clearance 4WD. It was the worst piece of driving I ever did, involving hard to follow tracks, deep sand and ditches and driving in a wash for several miles.
After shooting my nightscapes, I spent a restless night, because I was worriedthat I might not be able to make it back into civilisation without incidents the next day. I finally made it back, but I damaged my aft bumper on the way out.
Was it worth it? Definately!

I got back to my summer Urals series. A panorama from Kozhim river. It was warm and serene night and we had a day of rest after some rainy days of hard rafting.

CSX M30110 passes through Stony Creek, across the body of water giving the town its namesake. The double track portion of the A-Line ends about a half mile north of this classic through-truss bridge. The M301 had just entered the single track within sight of this spot when a brake valve opened up, causing them to foul the main here for nearly an hour. Note the ACL-style whistle post immediately north of the bridge.
