Capay Crush 2011
September 25, 2011 - Photos from our first annual grape festival - Capay Crush - a celebration of the crush season!
We welcomed autumn with an early evening of local wine tasting, grape stomping, live music and dancing, delicious local food, tractor tram rides and more. Weather could not have been better! Thank you to all who came out to celebrate Capay Crush, our event benefiting the Kathleen Barsotti Non-Profit for Sustainable Agriculture.

610 Stompers danced across the stage during the first number of Sturgill Simpson’s set on the Acrua stage to close out the first day of the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival on 27 April 2018.
Watching the end of the Stomp Show with my very tired love.

This Dusky Moorhen (Gallinula tenebrosa) wasy busily stomping around, presumably looking for prey items. Superficially, this species resembles the Common Moorhen of North America, lacking only the pale striping on the flanks. Of course, any member of the family Rallidae is a source of fascination for me. It was not long before I turned my attention from the Pacific Black Duck to the gambolling moorhens surrounding the duck.
