so here in MD we are plagued with these annoying stinkbugs. One common way to rid although it results in stinking, is vacuuming the bugs up. I thought this was pretty funny when as I was vacuuming I had a stinkbug riding along.

A variety not like the ones I remember seeing in the past, and around Christmas '07 they were present in large numbers.
A closeup view of a stinkbug. Its little pits/pores were reflecting the sunlight, making it look as if it were jeweled.
Stinkbug makes his way across a rough brick surface. In human terms, every drop and rise would be at least a foot in elevation.

Yes, there are a million Stinkbugs in these parts. They are loud when they fly and quite annoying when they land and you step on them and they stink up The Joint... but when you look at them, they are quite amazing. This one was on our shower curtain one afternoon. I called him Stunk.

This guy was photographed on the US Air Force Memorial in Arlington, which has a textured metal surface, which makes for some challenging flash photography, but, in this instance, I kind of liked the effects.
A whole bunch of bugs are attracted to the large bright lights at the monument's base, which led to thoughts of bringing tape and large white pieces of paper. I don't think the Park Service would appreciate that very much, though...
Stink bugs (Euschistus sp.?) mate on a Gray-headed Coneflower, as a nymph peeps out from beneath the petals. Photographed in the prairie restoration area at Afton State Park, Minnesota.
