#NGC7000 aka the #NorthAmerica Nebula (on the left) and #IC5070 aka the #Pelican Nebula(on the right) is a large hydrogen emission area 2500 light years away near #Deneb, the brightest star in the #Cygnus constellation. They appear as two separate nebula because of a ridge of dark space dust that blocks the light from everything behind it. The #CygnusWall, the bright ridge along the bottom of the North America Nebula, is a particularly active star formation area. This image is 64 five-minute exposures captured May 18-19 with my 250mm lens. #StillLearning
Still learning how to use my Diana F+. Obviously the shutter time wasn't slow enough in this picture. Ah, and the focus is off... But well, I stll quite like it and I hope to see a learning curve in the pictures I take with the Diana :-).
This image of a small part of #UrsaMajor shows at least 4 galaxies: #Bode's (M81), #Cigar (M82), #NGC3077, and #NGC2976 . These galaxies are between 11 and 14 million light years from Earth and each contains billions (with a b) of stars. I had planned to spend a couple of hours capturing this image but the clouds rolled in after 20 minutes. #StillLearning
