The Stetson Mansion is Florida's first luxury home and was built in 1886 by famed hat maker and philanthropist John B. Stetson. It is in the Town of Deland Florida and very hard to find as there are no signs or other information about it as it is privately owned. House is 10,000 square feet but does not appear that big from the street.
Bobby Hackett, Corella and Bertram F. Bonner Foundation vice president; Deborah Thompson, Stetson vice president of Enrollment Management and Campus Life; Rina Tovar, Stetson dean of Students; and Stetson alumnus Matt Morton gather before the opening session of the Bonner Conference in June. The 2009 Student Leadership Institute host is Stetson University in Central Florida.
