The manager of the coffee kiosk on Stetson University campus. Took a break while closing down the place for the summer.
...I mean Real Hats. This was my sister-in-law's. She was an actress and a fashion doyenne and wore them with great panache - big, little, feathered, veiled, and yes, Stetsons too! But this old box up in a cupboard piqued my interest.
In the small college town of Deland, Florida stands a magnificent mansion, built in the 1880s by hat millionaire, John Stetson. Every year the current owners decorate each room with a Christmas theme. On the left is a small look at the kitchen island. The hanging, stainted-glass light is not original to the mansion, but I was impressed and tried to capture it in my 3 x 5 Stillman & Birn journal. The hat, we were told, is a several-thousand-dollars Stetson made of beaver and chinchilla.

The swiss alpine stuff is turning up all over lately. I found this square fire king baking dish in the pattern today at the thrift store. I actually bought the matching cinderella mixing bowl at an antique store a while ago.
The Women's Volleyball team is headed by coach Cheryl Carlson and has experienced outstanding seasons. It's always important to know your gear before you try to take pictures in the dark. That way, you're not stuck at ISO 100 when you're trying to take night pictures. Durrrrr.
Stetson Hatteras (made in Germany) 'TROPICAL WOOL' cap - 97% wool, 3% elastane. The fabric is so light that when you hold it up to the light, you can see through it. The sweat band is even made out of the same material and is totally prickle free. Not as durable, squashable or washable like my hat people caps though, and a little dearer, but not having a lining and having the fabric sweatband (usually the hottest part of the hat) makes this a lovely breezy comfortable cap for summer, and it's wool. Being a wool grower, I may be prejudiced, but I think for caps wool is better than cotton, linen or synthetics. This tropical wool I believe is lighter weight than linen.
