The thousand steps is a haunted location in Spokane near the Greenwood Cemetery just off of Government way. As you climb the abandoned stairway to the upper cemetery terrace you will become overwhelmed with a sense of fear and dread. Do you dare climb the steps at night??

"Stand Out In A Crowd" for week 51 (Paint the Moon project)
Different, unusual, odd, etc...is what I think of as far as standing out in a crowd. This beautiful stone stairway is very close to my home. I am intrigued with it. Every time I drive by it, I wonder...
Where did it once lead?
Who walked the steps?
How old is it?
Why is it still there?
I wished these steps could talk! Usually they are overgrown with weeds and poison. Today, I drive by and they are completely cleared and to my surprise they are decorated. Surrounded by a crowd of trees stands this beautiful stone stairway stands there and still looks beautiful.
Processed Wham Bam, and from the Luminosity Collection I used Rhapsody and Icy Thistle.
Concrete steps leading to an entrance at Hunter College. JCRC demolished and removed the existing and did all framework and pouring of concrete to construct the steps.
I love the reflection on the handrail for some reason I couldn't get the colour of the steps quite how I wanted it
We didn't actually get to Christmas Steps, a small historic street akin to those found in York. The gate is pretty though.

330 flagstone steps down to the tiny harbour at the bottom; in its day (1820s) there were 24 boats fishing here and the fish was all carried up to the curing station at the top of the cliffs
Avalabetta and Gudibande Fort, Karnataka, India
Avalabetta and Gudibande Fort are a good daytrip from Bangalore. Both of them are just off the Bangalore-Hyderabad Highway (NH7).
Avalabetta is a small hillock about 100kms from Bangalore city. The hill houses Lakshmi Narasimha temple, villagers offer the first milk of their cows to the deity worshiped here. It has small ponds on the way up to the top of the hill and you can do some rock climbing on the hills. The top of the hills affords some beautiful vistas of the countryside.
Gudibande Fort is a multi level fort was built by local chieftain Byre Gowda some 400 odd years ago in the 17th century. The fort’s main feature, is the rain water harvesting with 19 rock ponds at different levels of the fort. The ramparts of the fort follow the huge rocks on e the way to the hills and some of the steps to the entrance of the fort are carved into the rock itself. The fort has seven levels with interconnecting escape routes which would help soldiers to flee in case of emergency. On the top of the fort is a Shiva temple, which is believed to be one of the 108 Jyotirlingas. One can also have a good view of the Byrasagara reservoir frm the top of the hill.
