This was as far as we could go down the Whaligoe steps as they are being renews. Although the enterprising Scotsman laying the slabs said he could let us pass for a tenner each and the dog goes free!
The steps going up the hillside behind the statue are referred to as Plimmer's Steps, named after John Plimmer, a successful Wellington businessman and local legend. The statue is of Plimmer and his dog. Wellington, New Zealand
