A selection of HDR images from Cromer. The beach is fantastic for the textures that come out using the HDR process. It's also good for overcast days where the final images shows the clouds in a far more dramatic way than they otherwise look to the naked eye.
This was the first thing I saw when I got on the beach and knew it would make a great HDR image.

(Taken During Photo By Design-Shapes)
This was taken at my son's graduation from 5th grade to middle school on the steps leading up to the auditorium where graduation was held. The steps had been drawn on with sidewalk chalk during an art day activity. I loved the combination of the chalk on the muted color of the steps and felt it was the perfect backdrop for a picture of my son, a last goodbye to the school he's called home for several years.
I didn't intend to post this image in our Photo By Design group, but when I began looking at it, the shapes caught my eye. The repeating rectangles are so interesting. The fact that there are rectangles everywhere makes me smile because rectangles indicate strength and my son is the strongest person I know. He started his life fighting for every breath and he hasn't stopped fighting yet.
A set of steps leads up the hills for an excellent view of the sea and surrounding scenery. There is foliage, stone lanters, and statues lining the path.
Hase-dera is a Jodo (Pure Land) temple in Kamakura with beautiful views of the sea. Established in the 700's, Hase-dera was originally a Tendai temple founded by Tokudo Shonin. Tokudo is said to have been responsible for creating the large wooden Kannon which resides inside Hase-dera's Kannon-do. It is the largest wooden statue in Japan. The twin statue, also created by Tokudo (carved from the same tree) is located in Nara.

This couple's bag ripped open, and a bottle of beer came crashing down near the Spanish Steps. The entire crowd groaned...
the mist was clearing as we walked along the coast path at bedruthan steps. Amazing place to visit when the weather is like this

Brightly painted buildings, a small patch of lawn and steps in the Zeum plaza, San Francisco, California.
From Pin Mill at High tide we walked up to the Cliff Plantation forest, catching glimpses of the Orwell as we walked. Deeper into the forest we saw sunlight through trees lighting up leaves in autumn colours and a variety of fungi in the shadowy undergrowth. We walked through then around the edge of the forest making our way down to the edge of the Orwell and then back up along the cliff top path until we came to the steps down towards the houseboat community. Some are living in what were abandoned wrecks of traditional vessels, some such vessels are just abandoned.
