Whaligoe Steps, near Wick. Harbour steps down a cliff to support the village's herring boats. A vital part of our heritage. 2010-09-24 Scotland (35)
One of the worst sections of the famous "steps" heading off of Black Bear Pass. Note the scale of the trees just above the trail. 4x4 vehicles are especially carefull here so they don't start bouncing and lose control prior to the turn to the right. The trail is the lighter gray section of terrain. Telluride is in the valley below. Look "black bear steps" on youtube. it looks like driving down the ramp in a parkin garage until you see someone drive down it. Toyota had their "FJ Summit" at nearby Ouray the same week. I wish had been able to see them when they came through here.
A week ago when Kay and I escaped to Galveston for a couple of hours we were prowling the alleyways and there was just something about this wall and stairway that appealed to me.
Bedruthan Steps is a stretch of coastline located on the north Cornish coast between Padstow and Newquay, in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It is within the parish of St Eval and is part owned by the National Trust. The Trust maintains a shop and cafe and the cliff–top view of rocks stretching into the distance along Bedruthan beach makes the area a popular attraction for tourists and painters. The property affords walks along the coast path and the steep steps at Bedruthan allow access to a series of rocky beaches at low tide (not owned by the Trust). Signs at the top of the steps down to the beaches warn visitors not to risk swimming in these waters due to heavy rips, fast tides and submerged rocks.

This might not look much, but you can see a couple of steps that povided a short cut from Somerton Bridge to the turnstiles off Somerton Lane. One of the few things you can find from the old ground.
