This is part of the old Wellington Public Library. They closed-off this exit as part of the re-model and now there is a kind of water feature that goes around that side. So, the steps did make sense when they first built it!

I love wooden steps, well wooden stuff really ! Whether it is window frames, doors, steps, bridges i love it! And if they're bathed in sunlight like this, even better!

The Tower is 40 feet high with an additional 12 feet of height for the lantern room. There are 42 steps and then an 11 rung ladder that takes you into the lantern room. www.geneseelighthouse.org/
